30 for 30: Friday night lights
Friday, February 11, 2011I really like today's outfit, for many reasons. I think it sums me up perfectly. Preppy blazer? Yes. A bit of girliness in the sash? Double yes. Casual in jeans? Yep! (Do I sound like that annoying insurance commercial yet?!) And of course we can't forget the flats. All my favorite pieces in one outfit. Today is a good day. Have a fabulous Friday, everyone!

Great Friday look...love the pattern of your shirt! =)
ReplyDeleteWow love it! You'll have to do another tutorial on how to tie that sash like that.
ReplyDeleteHow creative with the sash! It finishes off the whole look. Have a fab weekend too.

Ahhh, cuffing the dress shirt over your blazer makes me want to go run and do the same thing! The black sash reminds me of a makeshift, more feminine tie. You have the best shoes evaaah, I need you to tutor me on how to buy/wear shoes.
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how awesome you used the sash! This style is perfect with those shoes!
ReplyDelete@Really Petite, @Lisa, @Alterations Needed, @olyvia - The sash is fast becoming one of my favorite accessories :)
ReplyDelete@Michelle - You totally should. Great investment if I say so myself ;)
@Elle - You know, I can't recall the last time I've seen you in jeans. You should definitely give it a shot, Elle!
@Stylepint - Thanks :) I wasn't sure of the brightness initially, but it's definitely growing on me.
@curls-and-pearls - Haha, let me see if I can describe it. Loop it around your neck and loosely tie a bow. Seriously, that's it!
@Lilly - I try :) Sometimes I feel I can't be creative in any other aspect of my life, so clothes are it!
@PetiteLittleGirl - Glad you agree!
@mk, @Kristen - Thanks for your kind words!
@JenlovesBal - Still trying to break the flats in. I can feel it stretching and molding to my feet though. Just have to be patient a little while longer :)
@Petite Mom - You know me, any chance I can be an enabler I will :D Definitely give this outfit a try!
@Banhannas - Hanna! Haven't seen you blog in awhile. Hope everything's going well :) I was definitely inspired by men's ties, but didn't want to go that route, so this sash was the perfect experiment.
Cee - This is my new favorite too! You've really outdone yourself this time - I can't tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE the way you put together the sash! It is the perfect finishing touch to this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. I swear, you are my new fashion idol. Every outfit you put together, I want to immediately copy it as best I can with what I have :)
ReplyDeleteCee!!! you enable me!!!!! first, the pink loft shirt. then the scarf. now I keep on seeing gingham button-ups on bloggers and upon reading this entry, I've decided to once again be a copy cat. Must find one that fits! I'm contemplating blue gingham. is that too safe? ah, who am I kidding? I'll feel lucky if I find one that fits!
ReplyDeleteAwesome outfit. I love the idea of wearing a sash as a necklace.
ReplyDeletegingham in purple?! So pretty! i love that you paired it with the bow and the blazer -- it toughened up the softness of that color :) and yay for favorite things coming together :D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
