I wore a similar outfit a couple of weeks back -- same top, bag, and white/green color palette. I had high expectations for the outfit because it looked amazing in my head. But in reality? ...not so much. I think the sweater tee ended up looking too "heavy" with the delicate tulle skirt.

Today's outfit is my second attempt at finding the right balance for this white sweater tee and green pairing. Though the lace of this pencil skirt is fairly delicate, I think the structured shape of the skirt ended up working better than my first attempt.

This scallop skirt was one of those impulse buys. I liked it enough and also needed more items to qualify for free shipping. Fast forward a few seasons... wow, I'm so glad I took a chance because the skirt has become a closet horse -- one of the most worn and versatile pieces I own. I wore a variation of today's outfit to a baby (girl) shower over the weekend. I swapped out the pencil skirt for a mini and the work tote for a bucket bag, while the rest of the pieces remained exactly the same. I love the versatility of work to weekend transformations (and vice versa) through subtle tweaks.

Today's outfit is a hodgepodge of styles. A mix of boho (top), glam (bag), feminine (shoes), and vintage (skirt). I could've passed for someone who got dressed in the dark this morning. Or perhaps seen as a risk taker. Or maybe a bit of both.

Today's outfit is inspired by a gorgeous wood colored adirondack chair with striped cushions from World Market. When I stumbled across this piece of furniture during one of my many work breaks, I turned into that emoji with hearts in their eyes. If only my home had some sort of outdoor space...! Because there's no way would I have left the store without one... or two.

Today's look is a bit different than my usual. It's fun, ladylike, and a little crazy. The proportions work okay when I'm walking around, but when standing still, they look a tad off. I wish the top was more cropped or the skirt was longer. All in all though, I enjoyed this experiment.

I've been reaching for these girlfriend jeans every Friday for the last couple of months or so. That's consistent enough where they can now be called my "Friday uniform."

I sound like a broken record because practically every week I have a "new favorite outfit." I can't help it if this fringe sweater has far exceeded my expectations -- dare I say, favorite purchase this season?

I call this my "prim and proper" outfit -- a modern take on a conservative look for the office. Ladies who I usually pass in the hallways with a quick "Hey!" stopped me to inquire and pay compliments, especially the tulle midi skirt. I hate being the bearer of bad news when I told them the skirt is from Banana Republic last year. There's nothing worse when something is within reach, but not quite. The conversation usually then flows to all the times when we wished we had the foresight to buy multiples of something we loved. When we realize this, of course the items are sold out. #firstworldproblems

I went with some friends for afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton in Tysons recently. I may have been a tad overdressed (we decided on cocktail attire, just because), but I was oh-so-comfortable while helping myself to a variety of desserts, sushi (from their Cherry Blossoms set), and tea. I love white dresses, but the color is limited to pretty much non-wedding dressy events, of which I don't partake much in. So I'll take any excuse to wear (white) dresses that are just collecting dust in my closet.

I call this my "eating well at the buffet" dress due to its voluminous skirt that has enough fabric to hide anything you can imagine really. I'm all talk because I haven't actually worn it on a test run... =/ My eating skills aren't what they used to be, unfortunately. Darn you metabolism and old age.

I walked around all day in the office with my jacket on *insert upside-down face emoji* -- all because I thought for sure it's short-sleeve weather. This sweater tee is made of substantial fabric... but the office just needed to be about 5 degrees warmer. Watch me wear this ensemble again next week and be complaining about sweating because we're supposedly heading straight to summer.

You know when you have too many clothes when:
   1) you don't even realize an item is "missing"
   2) your closet starts to overflow
   3) you start buying duplicates of something you already own

Luckily #2 and #3 haven't happened... yet?

#1 threw me for a loop recently. This scarf I'm wearing in today's post is one that I thought I reached for often... but apparently not because I looked everywhere before realizing it's in my "dry clean" pile. I'm embarrassed to admit that pile has grown to a small molehill since I haven't made a trip in months. No excuses here; it's pure laziness on my part. I think I just needed the push from the warmer weather recently.
