Today's fashion inspiration is thanks to Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex at Wimbledon from last month. What is it about British women (she counts now, right? Also looking at you, Victoria Beckham & Amal Clooney) who are just so chic? I'll never tire of perusing through their photos, new and old.

Today's look is inspired by the French soccer team. I think they have the best jerseys kit (that is the correct term, right? soccer noob here) of all the teams at the World Cup -- classy in both style and colors (examples: one, two). Of course, the outfit wouldn't be complete without accessorizing with a scarf somehow.

When I buy new items, I tend to wear the hell out of them. So after awhile, it's easy to feel like I've worn all the combinations. When this happens, sometimes you just need to be patient until inspiration strikes. Today's pink and blue look is such an example -- inspired by none other than the always fashionable Victoria Beckham.

Today's outfit is inspired by a gorgeous wood colored adirondack chair with striped cushions from World Market. When I stumbled across this piece of furniture during one of my many work breaks, I turned into that emoji with hearts in their eyes. If only my home had some sort of outdoor space...! Because there's no way would I have left the store without one... or two.

Today's outfit inspiration credit goes to Nordstrom -- the link I seemed to have lost :( It's what I like to call a blend of feminine meets masculine -- the embroidered and fringe top paired with what DH calls my "lumberjack" look (flannel + jeans).

Today's navy printed blouse + green jacket + gold jewelry combo is inspired by a recent Madewell ad. I won't lie, if I could pull off beanies, I wouldn't have hesitated in copying that from the model's outfit as well. Alas, my weird head shape meant I took the boring route and chose black jeans and heels for a slightly more office-appropriate look instead.

Today's feminine twist on a military inspired outfit is thanks to Maje via The Outnet. Remember how I was recently talking about not having worn my floral lace dress in awhile? Well, turns out it was more than just a fleeting thought because I knew the dress would be the perfect finishing piece for my outfit recreation.

Today's pink stripes and camo inspiration is thanks to Lisa. I don't own many silver accessories, so ended up choosing boring brown shades to round out my outfit instead. It started with the taupe colored scarf on a chillier than normal day. The pants, shoes, and bag simply followed suit.

Today's outfit inspiration of baseball tee + plaid + ankle boots is thanks to Pinterest. Plaid has been on heavy rotation lately with the upcoming holidays.

This time of year is typically low-key for me, as family all live close by. I plan on enjoying the day off, taking advantage of after-Christmas sales to prepare for next year's holiday season (all of a sudden I'm really into random home decor knickknacks, lol), and eating half my weight in food.

Today's navy + plaid + graphic tee combo is inspired by Marissa Webb. I usually steer away from wearing navy and black together (hard to differentiate between the two colors sometimes), but really liked how my last outfit turned out. As for today's look? I'll give myself an A for effort... probably should've swapped out the faux leather pants for jeans instead.

Today's outfit is inspired by Giovanna Battaglia's cute dress (or is it a coat?) with a little black bow. I've swapped out my trench coat's belt before and really liked how a new belt can transform an outfit. For today's look, I used a black sash from an old dress. The sash was too long, so I had to double up when tying the bow... and the result was sort of messy. I definitely had a better-looking version in my head. Ahh well, it was a fun experiment.

I'd like to give two shout-outs for today's look. 1) Gap for providing the inspiration outfit which I copied straight down to the bottom layer and switching it up only slightly with different colors/patterns. 2) Jean for sharing her leopard flats find. I wear flats quite often so I'm always happy to add new pairs to the rotation. I couldn't pinpoint why leopard printed ballet/round-toe flats, sneakers, pointy flats, and the like didn't call out to me until I saw this smoking slipper version. Just waiting for the right combination to come along, I guess.

Today's outfit is a little different. Deviating from my usual girly/preppy/casual mix and inspired by a Madewell ad, I was able to choose similar pieces from my closet to recreate what I'd dub my wannabe-effortlessly-cool outfit -- keyword being wannabe.

In my world, tees and jeans are a combination that never gets old. Play with colors and/or change up accessories, and I could probably have enough blog content to last me a long while. But... that would get boring pretty fast, so I'll just sneak in these posts every now and then. Today's color inspiration comes from Piperlime's styling of the "Furthest Thing Coat" by The Fifth Label. Orange clutch, blue suede pumps, gray top -- check, check, and check!

I dressed up today's black outfit with gold accessories. The chunky chain necklace had been sitting at home unworn, so hey, why not pair it with a simple black dress? Oh that's right, Elle had already worn this necklace + dress combination last winter! I'd like to thank my subconscious for remembering in time so I can give Elle proper credit.

Today's outfit is inspired by Massimo Dutti's model touting their denim effect blazer. I love the contrast of crisp white jeans with a dark gray blazer and bright shoes. I couldn't channel her effortless cool though -- think I should've worn looser jeans or a longer top instead.

Simple and extravagant outfits alike, I find inspiration from all over. Today's comes from Pinterest (yet again). The first outfit below is pretty much a dupe of the model's, while the second is a casual variation of the first. I'd say the second is more "me," but the first doesn't lag too far behind.

Gahh! I had already written a post, but was too finger-happy with keyboard shortcuts that I accidentally wiped everything out. Then Blogger's quick auto-save function confirmed that all was lost. Unfortunately that meant I lost the link to the image of an adorable little boy that I used as today's outfit inspiration :( He was wearing a gray hoodie sweater, a blue plaid shirt, white tee, and khaki-colored cargo pants. A text description just isn't the same as an actual image, huh? Sigh. But yeah, today's outfit is my tomboy-ish version of his.

One of my current obsessions is the combination of gray and white. These colors together just seem so fresh and modern to me. The Coach mini Borough bag may have sparked the initial interest (also have my eyes on the Kate Spade Shipley coat), but this image on Pinterest was what inspired today's matchy-matchy outfit.
