Stripes, oh how I love thee. It's a pattern that suits any occasion -- work, dressy, weekends, just to name a few, and one that I can't get enough of. Oh, periwinkle blue? Don't mind if I add that to my growing collection.

I figured my backpack days were long behind me after school ended. Years passed, gray hairs sprouted, wrinkles formed, and I here am again back to toting a backpack. It looked so fabulous on my friend A that I had to get one for myself!

I purchased this brooch months ago (snow-still-on-the-ground months ago). Looking back, it's obvious that I should've sent it back right away. After admiring the pretty design, I cringed at the hole that would no doubt appear from pinning the brooch onto an unsuspecting shirt of my choosing. Not wanting to subject any delicate materials to such a fate, the brooch became lost among a sea of pretty trinkets by my bedside. That is, until I finally had that ah ha! moment when I realized that denim is a material sturdy enough to withstand the weight of a brooch.

I made plans to trek down to the DMV on my off day last week. It just so happened that my hair was having one of its rare cooperative days -- silky and swingy with no frizz in sight. Score! My hair was the only highlight on my new driver's license though (thumbs down to the new purple/yellow license and the awkward smile).
