Everyday Casual: Peplum Edition

by - Thursday, June 13, 2019
Hydrangea season is upon us! Per annual tradition, one who does not have a green thumb shall partake in the festivities by documenting with photos. Is it possible to feel under-dressed in the presence of flowers? Because I sure do, lol. Nevertheless, I really liked how this peplum button-up shirt looks unbuttoned. I was casually on the lookout for a boyfriend-fit white dress shirt, but that's no longer in the works. Love when that works out.

A Lime A Day...

by - Monday, June 10, 2019
Ripped shorts and a top are usually my no-fuss, on-the-go casual outfits for weekends. But sometimes, there is that urge to change things up. So staying true to the same theme, it doesn't get any more low maintenance than tossing on an easy-breezy dress. Boat shoes and a slouchy hobo round out the look. Lastly, I just had to make the outfit somewhat interesting somehow... so on went the cheerful lime bag charm that brings a smile to my face.

Knotted Blouse & Knit Skirt

by - Thursday, June 06, 2019
I equally love and hate today's outfit. I don't particularly care for the suede pumps, aside from the bow. The color and material seem harsh for the summer. So why did I even bother?! I literally stood in front of my shoe shelf and went down the line. Nothing seemed "right", so I settled. But as the day wore on, the more I wished I had chosen plain nude pumps -- it is a classic for a reason.

Now the part of the outfit I loved: the windowpane blouse! No matter how many times I promise myself to stay away from final sale items, I... just... couldn't... resist. Well, I'm happy to report the blouse fits TTS and drapes beautifully. (For some reason I was expecting light cotton? Need to read the description more carefully). I left the last button undone and knotted the ends for a more casual take on office attire.

Wear to Work: Summer Whites

by - Tuesday, June 04, 2019
I swear it's completely unintentional that every time I wear this particular white blazer, I gravitate towards this same spot for photo ops (example 1, example 2). Perhaps my subconscious loves the way white pops against the bright green leaves...? What is deliberate is how much I choose to wear white this season! The color has always been a favorite of mine to wear, but lately I've been loving it in life too. Taking more care to keep white furniture at home clean. While developing a new UI feature at work, I'm paying more attention to the amount of used and unused white space. Those couple random thoughts may not seem like much, but I found myself stopping and smelling the roses, so to speak. And in my book, that's always a good thing.

Wicker & Florals

by - Sunday, June 02, 2019
This wicker basket elicits comments everywhere I go. Exhibit A: at work. The other week, my manager asked if it was my lunch bag? If it was anyone else (we have a tenuous relationship), I would have LOL at the randomness. Exhibit B: standing at the hostess stand waiting to be seated. An older lady was so happy to share her bargain hunting find, which meant she is now also part of the straw basket club. Now this was a much more pleasant encounter.
