Pastels & Eyelet

by - Tuesday, May 28, 2013
Up until now, I've worn this eyelet skirt with flats only, and even then, it was mainly flip flops. Today's non-midriff-baring outfit called for something dressier... heels felt like too much, so I settled for low wedges as a compromise.

Odds & Ends

by - Tuesday, April 23, 2013
Sales alert at Saks' F&F event: Use code FRNFAM2 for 25% off (designer exclusions apply) through 4/28.

A few closet favorites available at a discount:
- Burberry Marystow trench - $896.25 sale price (I'm wearing sz 2 - see outfits)
- Longchamp LM Metal tote - small is $116.25, large is $131.25 (read review / see below + outfits with bag)
- Ali Ro draped dress - blue is $187.50, hot pink is $112.49 (I'm wearing sz 0 - see outfits)
- Marc Jacobs large Single - pink is $506.25 (see outfits with bag)

Also, today's the last day for Neiman Marcus' gift card event for regular-priced purchases of $250+ by using code BET2GET. If the item/designer is excluded from Saks' F&F and/or probably won't be going on sale, the next best thing is getting a gift card towards a future purchase. It's not instant savings, but it's better than nothing. For this reason, I went ahead and purchased an item I've long been lusting after, the Valentino Rockstud sandals. The shoes are actually $895 (listed price of $945 is marked wrong) and will be corrected once an order is placed. During check-out, I noticed a $29 delivery and processing charge, but was able to waive it by stacking two codes, APRILFS with BET2GET.

Lastly, at Hollister, take 40% off entire purchase (+ free shipping over $75) using code 36040 through 4/24.
- Destroyed boot jeans - $35.70 sale price (I'm wearing sz 3R - see outfits)

A traditional summer piece (linen pants) may seem at odds with a turtleneck (usually associated with winter). However, the tissue-thin fabric of the turtleneck makes it a great transition piece on colder spring days. The linen pants were mainly chosen for its white color, but also worked weather-wise. Versatility ftw.

Green & Pink

by - Friday, June 08, 2012
I'm giving my feet a break today from wearing heels all week. I considered my boat shoes but it doesn't seem to go with the shape of the skirt, so a trusty pair of ballet flats it is. Though not perfect (these H&M flats I've been coveting would be better), gotta work with what's in the closet ;)

Have a great weekend!

Scarf Bow

Today's outfit is inspired by a couple pinned images (1, 2) and created using Monique @ petite avenue's ever-so-helpful tutorial. The result? A little whimsy with my go-to color palette of choice, pink and blue.

Note to self: try with a longer scarf next time.

Weekend Blues

by - Saturday, February 25, 2012
Today's outfit is inspired by yet another Pinterest image -- the main source of my inspiration lately as my mind's been on grown-up responsibilities. After 3 years of on and off house hunting, bf and I are finally homeowners! We haven't moved yet because although the home is in move-in condition for most people, I'm one of those who like hardwood floors everywhere. Aside from new flooring, I'm most excited about my our new closet. It's bigger than what we have now so I'm willing to share, hahaha.

Currently on the to-do list and my plans this weekend: putting up blinds. My wrist is already sore from installing two, with too many more to go. I can already see it now, home improvements on the weekends for the rest of my life. What did I sign myself up for?! All whining aside, this is what we wanted, so I couldn't be happier. A good start to 2012 with perhaps more exciting times to come? ;)
