As summer is winding down around us, I'm trying to not get ahead of myself. Just living in the moment, enjoying wearing summer pieces a few last times, sipping iced cold drinks, and even not complaining about the humidity (ha!) Fall will be upon us soon enough and there will be plenty of time to wear layers then.

I had the most fun I've had in awhile playing around with this outfit. There were just so many opportunities to mix and match to create completely different outfits (small details matter!), that it actually took me awhile to settle on this one. Now did I achieve the look I was aiming for? If you're seeing a fun yet glam business casual outfit, then hell yeah.

Sleeveless in the summer?! Yep, your eyes aren't deceiving you. This is such a rarity for me, but sometimes when the humidity is suffocating, there just aren't many ways to stay cool. Note that I'm clutching the jacket on for dear life, ready to be worn the second I step indoors.

Two fleece outfits in the span of one week? You can now add fleece to my list of obsessions for this year along with the color green. Unlike the first look, today's is appropriate for weekends and casual Fridays at the office. I wore the blanket scarf mainly for added visual interest, but without still looks just as put-together.

I ordered a handful of items during the Zara sale a few weeks back (still ongoing, but selection is probably better in stores now from returns). The only item that I loved enough to keep? This pair of black ballerina flats with beaded straps (coincidentally, a friend also bought and kept! Great minds especially since we didn't coordinate beforehand).

I was afraid the flats may be too big, but Kefee heel inserts to the rescue once again. Since my initial post about them, I do think the heel inserts work much better than the toe inserts. With more weight pressing down on the toe inserts, they seem to lose their cushion fairly fast.

It's one thing to knowingly wear men's clothing, but quite another to do so by accident. I had no clue that the yellow or light pink baseball cap I was considering were from the men's section. Nor when I first put it on and had to adjust the sizing to the smallest band. It's only right when I'm putting this post together did I do a double take.

'Tis my favorite (floral) time of the year! Not like anything else can compete with these gorgeous hydrangeas, but keeping my outfit easy and simple nonetheless (PS: today's dress is on sale for 50% off and free shipping).

The previous few years I was all about wide leg pants that skimmed the floor (examples: one, two, three). I love how comfortable these pants were and how tall I looked even with flats on.

What has captured my heart this season? A wide leg and cropped version. Now this is a silhouette that I never imagined I would be drawn to, let alone wear. For these types of pants, I think it helps to find one with a high waist as it shortens the torso and lengthens the legs. Wearing high heels and tucked in shirts also help to give the illusion of longer legs. For today's outfit, I thought the embroidered floral top was a fun pairing with the yellow bottoms, albeit making me a little "boxy" looking. Layers. Love them. They add so much interest to the eye. Today's look is all about layers in transitional weather. Including the scarf, I'm counting four layers of solids and patterns -- some shorter, others more visible, but that's of the fun of mixing and matching.
