Pink / Gray
Tuesday, April 08, 2014Live. Laugh. Love.
Monday, April 07, 2014DH said I looked like a "celebrity supporting a worthy cause" in this graphic tee. Yeah, if that cause is all about me, a reminder to live, laugh, and love my life, lol.
Shift Into Neutrals
Wednesday, January 29, 2014Today's outfit features the same neutral color scheme using some of the same items as another outfit from warmer days. I wish I could say that I simply added some layers to transition the outfit from fall to winter, but nope, the outfit only came together after I stumbled across a J.Crew collage (bottom left outfit).

Plaid on Plaid
Monday, January 27, 2014There is a silver lining to this frigid winter that we've been experiencing. All it took was a few days of "bone chilling cold" for me to acclimate to "normal" winter temperatures. Not that I wish for this weather pattern every year, but just trying to stay positive and look forward to spring.
Have a good Monday, everyone!

Dress Obsess
Wednesday, December 18, 2013I do make a conscious effort to pick from my list of 5 go-to photo-taking spots depending on the outfit. Ie: Work attire calls for something more... serious (for lack of a better word). From my list that would be a location with buildings in the background. So what was I thinking when I picked a snowy backdrop when I wasn't all bundled up?! Well, I was feeling a bit people shy, so I went to the one spot I figured nobody would be around after a "snowstorm" -- by the water where no one in their right mind should be out fishing. No worries, it was the quickest photoshoot ever because it was just a tad too cold that day.

How Suede It Is
Thursday, December 05, 2013An easy way to break up a monochromatic outfit is by mixing and matching various textures. A (faux) leather dress, cotton turtleneck, and suede booties make up the bulk of today's outfit. I finished the look by accessorizing with beige/gold accessories. I'll go ahead bump the total texture count up to four by also adding in the tweed clutch.

15 Ways to Wear Neon Pink
Wednesday, September 25, 2013Neon pink is a color that I jumped on board with two summers ago. I figured it'd be a fun trend to try, but I'd quickly tire and move on to the next fad. For the most part, this was true. However, when summer rolls around the years since, I find myself reaching for this bright color time and time again.
Pink colors in general work well with blue shades. Like with my fuchsia pants, I wore neon pink quite often with navy. I also wasn't afraid to pair this bright pink with another bright color, but do make a conscious effort to balance out the rest of the outfit with neutrals.
For neon pink tees currently on the market, try: one, two, three. For neon pink gingham shirts currently on the market, try: one, two, three.
Stripes/Green/Red
Monday, September 23, 2013I can't get enough of these red loafers! I tend to play it safe with my shoe choices, but these have been surprisingly easy (not to mention, comfortable) to pair with casual or dressy items in varying colors and patterns (also see previous two posts). So much so that I'm seriously considering breaking my no-duplicates-rule and buying a backup pair.
Neon/Chambray
Monday, September 09, 2013Today isn't my typical caffeine-guzzling-while-running-out-the-door-because-I'm-late-again Monday. Today I had no problems waking up early because I know after putting in my usual hours at the office, I can run home and park my behind on the couch for the rest of the night. Nadal/Djokovic. Redskins/Eagles. Ahh... I hope the two do not overlap. Otherwise I'll have one eye glued to the TV while the other focuses on the live stream on my laptop.
Happy Monday!
Transitional
Sunday, September 08, 2013Summer... fall... the weather's been pretty fickle lately. I'd be wearing jeans and booties in the morning but changing to shorts by the afternoon. Hey, if this is the extent of my problems, I sure can't be complaining.

Leather Trimmed
Friday, September 06, 2013Today's look is inspired by an outfit from the DSquared2 Resort 2012 campaign. I love the camel/pink/orange combo on the model and wanted to try my hand using pieces from my closet. I do like how my outfit turned out but think there may be too much color on top? DSquared2 got it right by separating out camel and pink into top and bottom pieces.
Have a good weekend!
Pink/Purple
Monday, August 26, 2013Even though I live in a region with four distinct seasons, sometimes I feel like I dress for spring/fall year-round. The perks of an office job, I suppose? Aside from obvious items reserved for specific seasons (ie: fur vest in the winter), everything else is fair game for my daily mixing and matching. Such is the case with today's outfit of ankle length pants made of lightweight wool. Normally worn in the cooler months, I summerized (an actual word according to The Free Dictionary!) the outfit with a short-sleeved tee.

It was surprisingly chilly the other morning -- lows 60s in mid-August?! So I donned a lightweight jacket for my morning commute to work. If I had taken photos in the late afternoon, the jacket would've been nowhere in sight. As is, today's outfit is a preview of what's to come this fall.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
Oh So Blue
Wednesday, August 14, 2013Today's outfit is inspired by a photo found on Pinterest (I much prefer to credit the original source, but can't seem to find the link). The theme is light blue on navy with the addition of a scarf. I chose casual brown sandals to round out the look. As someone who mostly wears neutral colored shoes, I was surprised to realize that the only brown pair of shoes I owned prior to this summer were a pair of booties. I'm so glad I went out and bought brown summer sandals this year because I sure have worn them enough to get my money's worth!
Casual in Pastels
Sunday, July 14, 2013Today's outfit is a change of pace for me. Instead of dark colors, I wore pastels in airy fabrics to combat the summer humidity.
Do the Bright Thing
Tuesday, May 14, 2013Day 14, Tuesday: Ten things that make you really happy
1) Discovering a favorite new author. Thank you Amazon for your "customers who bought this item also bought" section.
2) The taste of raw fish that literally melts in your mouth.
3) Seeing loved ones achieve their dreams and goals. My dad re-telling the story of his best golf game. My friend Y for landing her dream job in Japan. My brother's excitement at going back to school for his MBA.
4) Capturing a perfect photo on the first try.
5) When I think of a witty comment on the spot, unlike my usual M.O.
6) The time spent with DH doing anything, or nothing at all.
7) No errors whatsoever in the code I've written.
8) Watching sporting events live and knowing I'm witnessing history in the making.
9) A lunch/movies/shopping/reading date with myself. I enjoy time alone but also need it to recharge.
10) Beating my own high score in Bejeweled Blitz (I'm at half a million).
