Memorial Day Sales (incl. J.Crew Factory pics)
Friday, May 24, 2013Lots of sales on this Memorial Day weekend. From the outlets:
1) J.Crew Factory - 50% off everything in store, 40% off everything online.
Patterned oxford button-down shirt in dusty twilight vines, size XXS (sold here) - TTS. I had high hopes for this shirt after first seeing it online. In person, the print looked "old" and I suspect it's because the thick cotton material. I wish J.Crew had used a thinner cotton fabric that doesn't have the "washed" look, ie the printed voile popover's. Passed.
Stripe racerback cami in navy/white, size 00 (sold out online/should still be in stores) - TTS. I really liked the wide stripes and the racerback feature. The lightweight polyester material seems wrinkle-prone but is machine-washable. Took home with me.
I heart J.Crew's poppy print from last year and was so happy to see them bring it back for Factory items. Among the accessories I saw with this print is the scarf [below] which looks very similar to the one I wear quite often (outfits here, here). The colors on the Factory version seems darker and the base is more greige as opposed to the white on mine (sold here). I also saw an umbrella with this poppy print, with the tag price listed at $19.50 (I believe).
Printed mini in neon persimmon, size 00 (sold here) - Size down. The material used is thick cotton, but I didn't care for the exposed zipper. Passed.
Printed sun shift in navy ivory, size 0 (sold here) - Reminiscent of my theory polka dress that I used to own with bigger dots scattered throughout. I wasn't able to try on my normal size, but I'd say it should be TTS. Passed.
Garment-dyed skinny jean (tag on back pocket says "ankle toothpick") in light citron, size 24 (sold here) - TTS. I was looking for the white version but didn't see any left in my size. As with most skinny jeans I've tried on in the past, there are creasing throughout. Most noticeably below the front pockets which I didn't like. The ones around the knees I can put up with. Passed.
Paulina suede pumps in blue grotto, size 6.5 (patent version sold here) - Went up half a size. The bright blue is really pretty in person but I think I'd prefer more of a pointy-toe rather than almond. Passed.
2) Gap outlet - 50% off the entire store.
3) LOFT outlet - 40% off the entire store.
4) Old Navy outlet - 40% off the entire store (excludes clearance items).
5) Banana Republic outlet - 50% off the entire store.
6) Ann Taylor Factory - 40-50% off everything. It looked like most regular-priced items were 50% off and sale items were an extra 40% off.
From left -> right below: (1) navy/white chevron maxi skirt (tag) / (2) chambray dress with ruffles (tag) / (3) navy tunic with crochet sleeves and hem (tag) - also comes in orange
At regular stores:
7) Express - 40% off the entire store (no code needed). It's been awhile since I've shopped there (work dress code became more and more casual), but they were my go-to for work attire.
- Signature Stretch Original Editor pants - $41.94 (I'm wearing sz 0R which was the smallest size years ago. I probably would fit into a 00R now / outfits: here, here, here)
- One Button Studio Stretch jacket - $58.80-64.80 (I'm wearing sz 2 / outfits: here, here, here)
8) Nordstrom - save up to 40% at their half-yearly sale.
9) ASOS - 20% off everything with code TAKE20.
10) H&M - 20% off one item through 5/27. Coupon here.
11) Last Call by Neiman Marcus - 35% off women's apparel, 30% off everything else. Elle mentioned this MICHAEL Michael Kors Chain-Trim Striped Tweed Dress in her recent sale post which I'm really tempted to try, even though it looks a lot like the Malene Birger Callinga dress I already own, albeit a casual version.
Happy shopping!
