The Case for Lace
Wednesday, May 01, 2013I remember being iffy about this lace top because I felt the high neckline gave off a mature vibe. In the subsequent outfits since purchasing, I thought I did a pretty good job styling the top for a modern look (ie: with a turtleneck, for business casual). Then there's today's outfit. Pulling my hair back doesn't help. Neither does a short (and big) necklace which draws attention to a spot that I wanted to downplay. It seems so obvious now after the fact, but wasn't something I gave much thought to before.
Have a good Wednesday, everyone!

I love this look! The navy and white combo is so crisp and fresh. I have the same top and I was also iffy about the neckline (but I got it on super clearance at JCrew so I knew I couldn't pass it up). I wore mine yesterday with a chunky necklace, too. Have you tried wearing it without a long sleeve underneath? Just a heads up -it is a little itchy.
ReplyDeleteYES the lace is extremely itchy! I've only worn it with long sleeves so far, but will be trying it with the cami it came with soon. Hopefully I can get through an entire day without scratching like crazy!
Deletelove your necklace!!!you always look so chic!

I think you did a nice job with the whites and that really pretty pop of rosy metallic from your bag.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a beautiful top and I love that you step out of your comfort zone & challenge yourself to style a piece that may be challenging.
