Day 15, Wednesday: A day in the life (include photos from throughout your typical day - this could be "a photo an hour" if you'd like)
A day in the life of a code monkey/blogger goes something like this:
1st row [from left -> right]:
- Coffee to start the day.
- A 30 minute commute to work.
- A quick stop for blog photos. Just me, my tripod, and wildlife.
2nd row [from left -> right]:
- The blank spot represents the hours I spend at work. Sorry, no photos because all I do is stare at a computer for 9-10 hours a day until lines of code start blurring with one another.
- Happy hour at Starbucks!
- Enjoying the nice weather on my commute home from work. When I bought my car a few years back, my only requirements were a sunroof and audio controls on the steering wheel. Both have been worth the money and then some.
3rd row [from left -> right]:
- My little corner in the home where I can sit for hours reading on my iPad. iPad + Kindle app = greatest invention ever.
- Blogging consists of downloading photos once I have a couple sets, making color adjustments in Photoshop, and writing up posts.
- Asian grass jelly drink to end the day. In conclusion, I've realize I drink a lot in a day, a lot of sugar that is.
The outfit of the day:

I did a triple zoom at the glimpse of that grass jelly! I love the dessert w condensed milk and have never had it in a canned drink!
ReplyDeleteRun to your nearest Chinese grocery store asap! Kidding, walking would be ok. Mine sells them in boxes of 24 (I think?) for ~$15. They seem like a hot commodity because boxes are constantly sold out. There's this other brand in a white/light gray can but they only sell flavored grass jelly drinks, which I don't like as much. Originals are always better, imo.
DeleteWhaaaaa? Grass jelly with condensed milk? I may have to run home and try that tonight!!
DeleteThat sounds amazing, right?! The grass jelly drink I was referring to only contains grass jelly and sugar water.
DeleteI don't know why I'm so surprised. That's how the shaved ice places do it here - grass jelly (plus other toppings like red beans or peanuts) with condensed milk on top of a mound of shaved ice. It just never occurred to me to skip the shaved ice portion of it!
DeleteOh the grass jelly drink - love it, but I usually have to pour that whole thing out into a glass because otherwise I can't get to all the jelly bits on the bottom. It's like a drink and dessert in one!
ReplyDeleteHaha me too. Then I drink/slurp with a spoon.
DeleteLOL at the blank spot! That chair looks comfy, where is it from? I hope you do a virtual tour of your house sometime =)
ReplyDeleteAmerican Eagle wayyy back in the day when they sold dorm-like furniture, lol. The chair is comfy but may have run its course. I'm looking to upgrade to an "adult" chair, but haven't convinced myself to splurge on the CB2 parlour chair yet.
DeleteUnfortunately my home is nothing to look at, messy with mismatching furniture everywhere, haha. Hopefully one day when I draw enough inspiration from Pinterest and actually start decorating. In the meantime, I do have photos of my closet -- which might be the best feature in the house.
Of course I got too carried away talking about myself. How're you and bf enjoying your new house??
DeleteWe love it. It's a great neighborhood with very friendly people and it's close to everything. Our big day is 8/31/13 so just been busy planning that out...
DeleteHave you mentioned that or is the engagement a recent event? I'm sorry if you have =/ Congrats to you and your fiance!! Hopefully wedding planning won't be too stressful. Let me know if you need any vendor recs :)
Deleteit's...fairly recent. about 6 months ago lol. thanks for the congrats! did you already have the reception? thought you mentioned about having it in the future or something but not sure =/
DeleteWhew, my memory isn't as bad as I thought! We didn't have a reception, just took people out to dinner. I didn't even wear the white dress again, lol.
DeleteThanks for the glimpse into your life! I am super impressed that you have the 30 minute commute and STILL manage to find time to get the great selfies. (I really need to learn to give myself more than five minutes before running out the door.)
ReplyDeleteI wish I can whittle my morning routine down to 5 mins! I envy all the extra time you get to sleep in :)
DeleteUnfortunately I'm transitioning to a new project at work, and they come in between 7 and 8, versus the easy 9am start of my other project team. Goodbye, sleeping in!
DeleteI used to get in around 9am but have been coming in before 8am now. That one hour feels like such a difference, lol! I feel like I have so much more time now. Come in earlier, leave earlier... let's see how long I can keep this up.
DeleteGreen Tea Frappuchino!!! :) I love that round chair thingy- where is it from?
ReplyDeleteAmerican Eagle from a LONG time ago when they used to sell furniture suitable for dorms. Guess they weren't making money because it didn't last long, haha. PB teen has a few just like mine, but of course, they're kinda pricey.

I LOVE grass jelly drink in the can!! I grew up on it and every summer I have to have it. It's so cooling. ;) My other fav way to eat grass jelly is the one you buy in the whole can and dice up and put in the fridge until cold then sprinkle sugar or syrup! Mmmmmm.. perfect for a hot summer day!

Find me on BlogLovin!
Grass jelly + sugar sounds delish! I'll have to try that sometime.
DeleteLove how you styled SPG's skirt! Another cute way to style a jean jacket!
ReplyDeleteI may have asked you this before, but what kind of coding do you do? Is it the C language?
Nothing exciting, unfortunately. We use mainly Oracle and Java.
DeleteGreen tea frap my favorite! Love the paper bag waist of the skirt :).
ReplyDeleteSeeing your tripod snapshot made me smile as I do the same. I am however super self-conscious so whenever there's someone in the near vicinity, it means goodbye, I'm outta there = no outfit pics! :(
ReplyDeleteSide note, haven't had grass jelly in a long time! Is that from H Mart?

I want to say taking self photos do get a bit easier over time. Usually I don't feel as weird if I'm the first person to a location, then others start trickling by. I don't like to just plop my tripod down in the middle of a crowd though... don't have the guts!
DeleteI think H Mart sells the grass jelly by cans, but I go to Great Wall because they sell them by boxes for a better deal.
I'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
