10 Ways to Wear a Red Turtleneck

Turtlenecks and I have come a long way, from being the bane of existence as a kid (slight exaggeration) to becoming a staple piece in my adult wardrobe. I wore my black turtleneck frequently last winter, which was justification enough to branch out into bright colors this season.

Incorporating a cherry red turtleneck into my outfits was a fairly easy task, as I own a lot of navy items (denim jeans count too). I also like to start layering with turtlenecks as the base, before adding on other patterns and colors. As the weather warms, I can also see fitted turtlenecks as a great transition piece, thin enough as the only layer on top paired with a full skirt on the bottom.

  4. Great post, Cee. You have made pairing a seemingly strong color so effortless. I stayed away from turtleneck for many years - never liked the look of it - until I saw this red one on you. I tried the J.crew factory version in black and fell in love! Since then I acquired the white and gray from their regular store and gee was I hooked. I think the key is the "tissue" part. It's very thin, and doesn't bulk. Have a great Friday!

    1. You are so right. The tissue thin version of turtlenecks are probably what I wished I wore as a kid. The thicker ones always made me feel like I was choking, haha.

      Have a good weekend, Vicky!

Can I make a suggestion - you might want to include one of those 'Pin It' to Pinterest buttons at the bottom of all of your posts. I would love to be able to keep track of some of your outfits on my boards in order to better utilize my wardrobe.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look into this feature this weekend when I have more time to troubleshoot code. I had just assumed everyone who pins use the "pin it" widget on their browser's task bar.
