Shorts with Tights
Sunday, January 29, 2012The last time bf bought an Old Navy Groupon, I left with $5 shorts. Fast forward a few months and it's like déjà vu all over again. Except this time around, I paid a whopping 25 cents! These shorts were on the clearance rack marked down to 97 cents, with an additional 50% off last weekend, and then another 50% off with the Groupon on top of that. This is hands down the steal of my lifetime.
What's the best deal you've ever gotten?
scarf: gift from friend (similar)
turtleneck: H&M basic jersey (may still be in stores; similar)
ring: Forever 21 delicate etchings (similar)
shorts: Old Navy pleated cuffed (similar)
tights: American Eagle classic (this season's sold here)
flats: Valentino bow ballerina (similar)

I got super lucky and don't expect anything like this to happen to me again ;)
DeleteThis is a good look, one I'd like to try.

That's so ridiculous its hard to believe it....I would be in utter shock to pay that little for anything. My most recent steal was at AT with their faux fur vest which I paid about 18 bucks for when originally it retails for 168! Not bad but it pales in comparison to yours!
ReplyDeleteIt's ridiculous that I had to think twice about buying it, hahaha. I like to look at things in % saved, so your AT faux fur was a complete steal at 90% off!
Delete25 cents!? That's amazing! Cool color pairing with the shorts and jacket. I don't think I've ever thought to put those two together. I'd probably just play it safe and keep the jacket with browns.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should say that because I'd have liked to have worn a black leather jacket or brown tights with this outfit. Since neither are in my wardrobe, what's a girl to do but just wing it, lol.
DeleteWHAT?!? $0.25???? Ok that is ridiculous! AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteAmazing deals and lovely outfit!

Best deal ever I actually scored yesterday- two pairs of Sam Edelman flats, originally $99 each, for TWO cents total at DSW. They were supposed to ring up $15 each but when she applied my coupons it brought the total to just two cents. :)
ReplyDeleteTWO CENTS for TWO flats?! That's a penny each! *gasps* I bow down to you, queen of deals :)
DeleteIt's been awhile since I've begged you to come to Atlanta to go shopping with me, hasn't it? Well, I haven't given up hope, entirely, just so you know... :)
ReplyDeleteI love the print on that scarf!
Or... you could come on up?! I hear spring time and cherry blossoms are a sight to see ;)
DeleteOMG $.25. That's an amazing deal. I have to agreed with Kelly. I would never thought to pair the cool color. Love it.
ReplyDelete$.25 is awesome. Great deal! Have to love a good sale. The last time I walked out with a good sale, I spent $2.00 for a shirt from Old navy that I have been eyeing for months. Its was marked down to 75% off plus I got another coupon through the mail. I love when you can stack coupons and offers.

We get so spoiled with stacking coupons that when stores don't allow us to, I feel jipped, lol. J.Crew, do you hear me?!
DeleteWhat a wonderful deal! :) Love how you're wearing the scarf and how it peeks out from the bottom of the jacket.
ReplyDeleteCue outfit!

omg that is a steal!!! def can not beat that. I went to old navy and got a dress last week..bought it for about $10 with groupon and I thought that was a deal! :D
ReplyDeleteSo these were the shorts you tweeted about =) Looks awesome on you (especially for the price). I have always loved that leather jacket on you. Goes perfectly well with the rest of your outfit!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU and all the other tweeters who share all these wonderful deals with us. By the time I realized ON was having a sale and I got home, the store was pretty much about to close. Hopefully one day I'll be able to repay the favor :)
DeleteWow! I thought I was doing well at Old Navy lately, but you clearly have me beat! I love your scarf as well!
ReplyDeleteThere has to be some kind of a trophy for scoring a deal like that Cee, congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteThat is an amazing deal!! I don't think I've ever gotten a $0.25 deal on clothing but after watching Extreme Couponing, I have gotten quite a few free shampoos and conditioners :)
ReplyDeleteNice! I'm ashamed to admit I don't buy shampoos at a discount :( Usually I don't even notice until I'm almost out and I don't take the time to shop around.
DeleteWhat a deal! Love the shorts! I like the whole outfit!

Wow, congratulations! I don't think I've ever got anything for under a dollar, but I did score a cashmere polo from the Salvation Army for $3.00 years ago. More recently I bought a Vince knee-length wool cardigan from TJ Maxx for $12 (original price was around $178) and several pairs of Persol sunglasses, also from TJ Maxx, for $26 apiece (original prices around $225 each). Bargains rock!
ReplyDeleteI only have these shorts to show for my bargain hunting steals. And that was a lucky fluke. But you my friend, seriously scored some amazing deals! I definitely need to hit up my TJ Maxx more often ;)
DeleteI wear tights with jean shorts all the time but I never thought about wearing them with more dressy shorts...ah-mazing idea...I am so copying this style now :-)
ReplyDeleteCute oufit! This is a great way to wear shorts in the cooler months!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
