Petite Fashion Challenge #12: From Night to Day
Thursday, January 05, 2012
Hosted by Khatu @ i am Khatu, Petite Fashion Challenge #12: From Night to Day has us restyling a glamorous look that you would typically wear for a night-out-on-the-town into daytime casual wear. Easy right? Bonus points if you can restyle it for work!
Coming up with three outfits for this challenge was hard. When I think glamour, I picture something fancy, sparkly, black, or a mix. I nixed out styling around my most versatile dress because I've already done that in a previous challenge. I also ruled out a skirt because it would probably be too short for most office environments. That leaves me with some sort of top as the common piece between all three outfits. After rummaging through my closet, a white sequin top it is*.
Night-out-on-the-town look: I chose a classic color combination of white against black. A little bling and (faux) leather adds some fun to a night look.
Daytime casual look: Continuing with the white against black bottoms theme, I dressed down this outfit with a casual tee and fur vest.
Work-appropriate look: And lastly, I swapped out dark bottoms for a dark jacket up top.
*I've been known to interpret past challenges in my own way, so hopefully I read this one correctly.

ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Cee! Can't wait to hear more about your trip. I second Megan..you styled that sequin top perfectly. The second look is my absolute favorite!
ReplyDeleteI love the second outfit for casual days! You did a great job styling this :D
ReplyDeleteOops, I think I did this challenge wrong - I only did 2 looks *whacks head.*
ReplyDeleteGreat transformations - they are all very distinct from one another! Sequins are definitely a good way to go :)
Gorgeous. And I love the slim fit of the vest. I think that's key for us petite women!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Cee! I love your casual rendition with the bow flats. And the leatherette skirt is nice for evening in that unexpected flared silhouette. Can't wait to see more of it.
ReplyDeleteI love your faux fur vest! So not overwhelming on a small frame unlike most of the others. Great ideas - I'll be following you from now on.

Wow! I love all your looks! I also wondered what size you selected from Zara girls. That vest is heavenly!
ReplyDeleteShy
Love all of your looks Cee! Especially love that skirt and your fur vest!
ReplyDeleteI love how you went with a theme (I feel like I cheated a bit by going with a piece rather than a "look"). Your looks are all totally cute and wearable.
ReplyDeleteI love all three looks! probably my favorite of the bunch
ReplyDeletelove love love your outfits!

@Anonymous - Yes I did! I folded about 5-6 inches under for a cropped look. The pants are too long on me normally, so I always fold a bit under, but just more so this time around.
ReplyDelete@SewPetiteGal - The 3rd outfit was a bonus ;)
@Elle - I SURE DID. Food in the States is just not the same :(
@tinymum, @Anonymous (Shy) - I'm wearing a size L in the Zara vest. Jessy also tried on the same vest in sizes L and M, so if you're smaller than me, M might work better. Hope that helps!
@my mini bag - Thanks :) Doesn't the gray pants look funny when I'm standing straight? Too much fabric on the bottom I think. Alas, it's so comfortable and fits well so it'll stay in my rotation.
Cee such a great take on this challenge! Everything you wear looks amazing :)
ReplyDeleteYou did an amazing job on the challenge and I love all of your looks!
ReplyDeleteHa! Whether you interpreted it your own way or not, I really love how the looks turned out. I am kind of (completely) in love with that fur vest. And I am very, very sad that I just don't think I could make it work for me. I will love it vicariously through you, I think :)
