Ann Taylor Perfect Patent Pump

I recently bought these Ann Taylor Perfect Patent Pump in black, size 6 (currently sold here). Thank you Jean @ Extra Petite and Cari @ Sisters Sincere for the suggestion! I'm now the proud owner of non-witchy black pumps.

Right out of the box, I was impressed with how shiny these pumps looked. I could see my own reflection! These pumps looked and felt more expensive than they actually were. I'd recommend them as a great Christian Louboutin Simple pumps look for less with their almond-toe and straight heel.

Many reviews suggested ordering a half-size smaller than your usual size, but I stuck with my normal US size 6 (never in my life have I ever worn size 5.5 shoes!) The fit was perfect, so I conclude that I must have normal-to-wide feet. The footpad had plenty of padding and is as comfortable as 3" heels can be. After paying around $100 for these pumps, I felt gypped for all my other shoes at this price point, lol. For the quality and comfort-level, I could see myself buying other pairs... that is, if I ever switch to a job that requires dressing up :)

Today's outfit is inspired by Kim Kardashian -- the girl simply never looks bad. I can't get enough of wearing this dress as a top ;) I've paired it with practically every skirt in my possession and not once have I worn it out as a dress lol. I love the color combo of Kim's outfit, but alas I had to make do with what I have. Hey, at least her top kinda matches my tights!
dress as top: LOVE 21
blazer: theory
skirt: Gap
tights: Forever 21 (currently sold here)
bag: Chanel

  2. Wow, those really ARE shiny! I guess next time I'm in the US I will have to check these out since so many people are raving about them!

  3. I agree! The AT perfect pump is such a nice shoe, and really is a nice, but cheaper alternative to the classic Christian Louboutin pump. My feet run narrow, so they don't fit me, but I would stock up in every color if they did!

  4. Cee, I forgot to tell you. If you’re interested, beyondtherack.com has the Amrita Singh Nello matching bracelet and earrings on sale today. The prices are reasonable. Here is the referral link if you need one. I bought both this morning. They didn't have the necklace for sale.

  6. Oooh, those shoes are beautiful! I've been looking at them on AT's site for awhile but never purchased for some reason. But you may have just inspired me!

    And you did a great job imitating Kim K's look there! Except I actually like your color palette and the colorful tights you're wearing much better than hers. :p

  7. Wonderful job on the inspired look! I love the draping of that skirt. And I'm so glad you got your first pair of those pumps. It's even better when they go on double sale for around $70 or less : ) I'm happy that they fit in your regular size! I must have slightly narrow feet then as well because I had to go half to one size down. I'm looking forward to what new patterns/textures/colors they come out with for future seasons!

  8. Oh Cee - I absolutely LOVE the outfit and love the colored tights!! Every time I see that Love21 dress, I feel like heading to the F21 website and looking for one of my own. Gorgeous pumps! I have a suede pump from AT and was really impressed with the quality of them.

  9. Who would've thought such a pretty and demure outfit would be inspired by KK. I like it a lot - especially the fun tights!

  10. I've been wanting to try out the AT perfect pump forever, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I am tempted to buy the perfect pump currently on sale, the Perfect Exotic Metallic Pump - in gold, but I'm not sure if that style/color is too much, since I'm trending for more versatile items now. But I'm glad you think the quality is good, it's helping my buying decision. haha

  11. I recently bought these shoes too! Yay, now we are shoe twins too! :)

    I really like your inspired look, I love draped front skirts (I have been eying this emerald green one from H&M but haven't figured out how I'll wear it yet). Your outfit is so much better than Kim's, imo.

  17. @PetiteLittleGirl - I was actually thinking of you and your PFC challenge when putting the outfit together. I'm warming up more and more to Kim :)

    @curls-and-pearls - They're definitely worth checking out!

    @Alterations Needed - You have CLs right? The real thing is always better ;)

    @KohLepe, @Nelah, @JenlovesBal - Thanks, girls!

    @Kristen - You're too kind :) I really, really want to find Kim's top. I keep staring at the draping!

    @PetiteAsianGirl - Whoa... I already thought I got a good deal at 40% off for these pumps. Should've held out for <$70 instead! I'll be sure to keep my eyes open though.

    @SewPetiteGal - Haha, no need to look for one of your own. You can make one instead :) Gap has something similar from their spring line that you could check out too.

    @Sharon - I know, right? I'm warming up more and more to her outfits.

    @olyvia - You can always buy and return if you don't like the exotic gold in person. It looks beautiful online and not too bright, so I actually think they will go with a lot of outfits.

    @Elle - Yay to being shoe and coat twins! We should wear the same look one of these days, hehe.

    @Stylepint - Yup, definitely keep these AT pumps in mind when you're looking in the future!

    @Lilly - Definitely give these AT pumps a shot! I've never tried on the CLs so I can't compare the comfort in person, but these may just surprise you.

    @Jen - Thanks for letting me know, I'll check out your site :)
