Squares & Stripes
Sunday, July 15, 2012I've been married for three weeks now. Nothing really feels any different, except for that ring on my left hand. This is the first time it's making a noticeable appearance on the blog, and probably the fifth time I've worn it in real life. I'm not alone though, as DH has worn his even less often than I have. We really are meant to be, lol.
bracelet as necklace: gift from SewPetiteGal (custom order from her Etsy shop)
shirt: Hollister Clobberstones gingham (similar)
belt: Old Navy (similar)
shorts: American Eagle (this season's sold here)
shoes: Sperry Top-Sider Bluefish (sold here)
Photo thanks to DH

Congratulations to both of you (from Finland!)
ReplyDeleteThank you, HMH!
DeleteI thought I was an avid follower of your blog, but I must have missed something, haha, I didn't even know you were engaged, and now you're already married! Congrats!!! Of course, loving the outfit today...bright pink always looks so nice on you!
ReplyDeleteAhh, sorry, no you didn't miss anything. We weren't ever officially engaged and pretty much decided the time was right to get married, so we had a simple civil ceremony :) It was low key and no fuss, so I didn't make it a big deal on the blog. Thanks for the well wishes, Olyvia!
Deletei concur with Olyvia. you kept your bloggers in the dark!!! hope you had a great wedding day. post pictures please.
ReplyDeleteThank you! We didn't make a big deal out of our simple civil ceremony, so I figured there wasn't a need to make a big fuss on the blog. I was actually planning on talking about my married status in a future blog post of our wedding day (still waiting to get photos back)... but the ring on my finger in this outfit was kinda hard to miss, so the announcement came early :)
DeleteCongrats on the marriage!! It true, I didn't feel any different after getting married either, especially since we were already living together before getting married.
ReplyDeleteBtw, Love your little bits of menswear in your outfits. =)
Thank you! Same goes with us; fewer life transitions happening at the same time, the better I say :)
DeleteCongrats, Cee! Hopefully you'll share some pics. :) I'm curious to see what you wore for your ceremony! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for this outfit... I love the pops of green and pink! Definitely using this for future outfit inspiration!
Have a great week!!!
Yes I do plan on sharing some photos at a later date! I'm still not sure how I plan on doing that... cropping out heads? Profile views? I'll save that to deliberate later :)
DeleteCongrats Cee!!!!! :) So happy for you and your DH! Wishing you all the best.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jen! Hope all is well :)
DeleteOh congrats!! I probably wouldnt have noticed the ring, lol. Im so jealous of your skinny thighs! oh, the things you can get away with then!
ReplyDeleteLike short shorts, right? ;) Going to milk it for as long as I can because for all I know, I'll wake up one day with a completely shot metabolism, hahaha.
DeleteThank you Amber!
congratulations Cee!! i thought i missed something!!! i'm super happy for you and DH. xox P
ReplyDeleteTrust me when I say you didn't miss much, P :) Thank you for the well wishes!
Deletegorgeous! i love this look!
ReplyDeleteThanks Molly! I'm glad the weather over the weekend wasn't *too* humid and I can still get away with a thin long-sleeve ;)
DeleteCongratulations to you and DH! Looking forward to your wedding day blog post! =)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kelly! Can I request that you keep expectations low? :)
DeleteCongratulations Cee and welcome to the club... I am married for 12 years and still love it. I hope to see some pictures of your wedding dress here... I wouldn't be surprise if it wasn't a dress at all. best wishes... Monica, from Fashion Koketi (http://fashionkoketi.blogspot.com/).
ReplyDeleteHahaha, you know me well. If we had eloped, I probably would've worn a tshirt and jeans ;) Alas, our civil ceremony was a bit formal (but still casual, if that makes any sense?), so I did wear a long dress. Hope I'll get photos back soon so I can share!
DeleteThanks for the well wishes, Monica!
Ok I totally thought I missed something as well! Congrats on getting married!! I originally thought you just got engaged, but married? Wow! :) glad that you're so nonchalant about it, since most brides these days make a huge fuss over the whole engagement/wedding (myself included but glad it was pre-twitter/pre-blog/pre-pinterest days or else I totally would have overshared all over the Internet. :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny that you already call him DH on the blog. I guess that's what he is, but it's still weird since I was so used to him being referred to as your boyfriend!
Thank you, Kimmie!
DeletePshhh, I beg to differ. The way you handled pregnancy with baby L was completely normal in this day and age :)
I hadn't realized my tweet was so vague, lol. I should've known better because I read an article recently talking about the rising popularity in man-gagement rings. Interesting concept and fair I'd say.
Congratulations, Cee! I too can't wait to see what you wore...
ReplyDeleteMy H and I were together for 8.5 years before we finally got married in May, so I can relate to the lack of fuss. Wishing much happiness for you and your new hubs ;)
Alissa
Thank you, Alissa! I didn't wear anything extravagant, but did wear a long dress. I'm already trying to figure out ways to rewear it in everyday life, hehe.
DeleteCongratulations! It's probably a good thing that you don't feel any different. If you are happy that is all that matters!

Thank you! Yes, a piece of paper won't change that we're happy together, so that's all that really matters *cues cheesy music*
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteAfter four years, I still forget to wear my wedding rings. Hubby wears his all the time. :P
Thank you! I can see myself not changing my ways in four year's time either, lol. As for DH, only time will tell :)
DeleteCongrats Cee! That's really exciting. I love how subtly you slipped it in there!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I figured this post was a good time as any with the ring being so visible and all :) And I'm sure it beats my usual "Hope you had a great weekend!", lol.
DeleteCongratulations Cee and DH!I hope we can get see some wedding photo. The biggest change for me when I got married was moving to a new city with my husband.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, what a way to start your new lives together, embarking on an adventure in a new place.
DeleteYes I do plan on putting up some photos once I get them. I'm hoping it will be soon :) Thank you, Ying, for the well wishes!
Congrats! Welcome to the married life! I wanted something like a civil ceremony too but my husband's family wouldn't have that. Since the Mr. and I lived together for 3 years...nothing really felt different except another ring...haha So I bet people always ask you.."how's married life" and you want to roll your eyes..haha jk
ReplyDeleteThank you, Eliz! Yup, been getting that question a lot. Understandable, so I try to restrain the eye-rolling ;) One of my best gfs gets it, so she didn't even bother asking. Turns out, her husband couldn't resist, so we both rolled our eyes at him, haha.
DeleteCute tomboy look you have here. I have never had a crush with gingham pattern but I start to look at it differntly now since I see you wearing them.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Cee - now time to reveal some photos from your big day, please.
Thank you, Nelah! Photos coming soon, I promise ;)
DeleteDid you drop some foreign currency on the ground? Yes I know I'm odd lol
ReplyDelete*scratches head* If that is indeed foreign currency, it's not mine (and I should've picked it up!) lol
DeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
