Wallflower
Wednesday, July 18, 2012I shy away from mixing prints because I'm not very good at it. A floral outfit while standing in front of a brick wall ---> "wall of flower" mumbled really quickly = wallflower ---> definition of wallflowers are shy people. Too much of a stretch? Moving on then :)
This floral skirt is one of the rare printed items I own. I've paired it multiple times with solid colors before venturing out to patterns via gingham. The experiment today is head-to-toe florals. I paired two similarly hued prints but broke up the pastel palette with brown accessories. Initially uncertain, the look is slowly growing on me. What's your take on wearing similar patterns together?

huh, interesting. i think i like it, actually. i'm just getting used to prints, and mixing prints is definitely not easy.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the fun in that if it was easy? ;)
Deletethis is a really pretty look on you, cee! very feminine.
ReplyDeletei pretty much have to force myself to buy and wear prints, not because i don't like them, but because i find solids much easier to wear/pair.
pairing prints seems like a pretty daunting task to me at this point! i can do stripes and polka dots & that's about it :)

You and me too, Jules. Pairing polka dots and stripes together makes me feel like a pattern pairing expert, lol. Everything else? Not so much.
Deletei love prints, but agree it isn't easy to mix them. this is a nice mix of floral. love your shoes too!! xox P

ReplyDeleteYou are a lot braver than I am! Those two florals look striking together! :)
ReplyDeleteGotta start somewhere, right? ;) Baby steps, I tell myself.
DeleteThis is lovely and effortless. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it works...floral print on floral print because you mix a muted piece with a bright one. Very feminine.
ReplyDeletelove how girly you look in this picture!!! oh btw congrats on your marriage! isnt it weird referring your partner as husband now? hehe I had trouble at first and felt weird when he said wife :D
ReplyDeleteKind of but at the same time, not really. Bf and DH are both still 2 letters, haha. From his point of view, hearing wife does sound uber weird. As weird wearing rings, but I'm sure given time I'll get used to it :)
DeleteFloral is my favorite right now. Those to prints go together really well. I love the outfit!
