Knotted
Monday, July 30, 2012Today's look is about subtlety. At first glance, a black blouse paired with jeans is a pretty simple outfit. Upon a closer look reveals a black on black palette with varying textures and prints. I took a relatively busy blouse with polka dots and ruffles and offset this with a plain makeshift tie. The outcome? My favorite aesthetic, a little feminine meets a little masculine.

I love your blouse, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteoh cee this is GORGEOUS! that blouse is stunning and so feminine!
ReplyDeleteI think I've seen those aviators; are they polarized? I spotted a few pairs of polarized glasses, and I was surprised you could get cheap polarized glasses for $15-$20.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I'm not sure if my sunglasses are polarized. They were ~$5 from Walmart a couple years ago, so I'm guessing that's too cheap for polarized versions.
DeleteI'm loving all the feminine menswear looks! And I really love those jeans! I've been looking for some good ones and I might have to try those out.
ReplyDeleteLove that look! Especially with the cute nude sandals. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the feminine looks mixed with masculine. That is one look that I couldn't never achieve. I have not idea where to begin.
ReplyDeleteI think it's easiest to start out completely one way or the other. Say, start with all feminine items, ie: ruffles, bows, skirt, etc. Then add a touch or two of masculine, ie: leather jacket, studs, etc. The best part is in the experiments, so don't be afraid to try out different combinations!
Deleteyou look so elegant!!!

I would absolutely wear this outfit! I have a pair of flat brown riding style boots that I could pair with it. I love the black and brown combo. It's like feminine western without being hokey.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of riding boots, I recently acquired a pair myself that I'm thinking of keeping. Cannot wait for fall now!
DeleteLove that top...you look great in it! You can't ever go wrong with polka dots! :)
