Bow Tied
Friday, July 13, 2012I'm not sure why it's happening now, but I've been on a home decorating kick lately (browsing Etsy for little knick knacks sure is addicting!) As part of the process, I moved my non-jewelry accessories from the closet over to my makeshift-desk-as-vanity. One of the little treasures I rediscovered is this polka dotted bow tie. So for today's outfit, I added a little whimsy to an otherwise staid look.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Etsy has so many great things I can browse for hours. :)
ReplyDeleteI love bow ties and the one you rediscovered is so cute and adds a fun touch to your outfit in place of a statement necklace. What a great way to accessorize :D ~ Phoebe
You and me both, Phoebe! It's a hard site to resist during down times at work ;)
DeleteWhat a beautiful outfit. I call outfits like these office chic. You'd be the best dressed woman in the office in this!

Very cute! I totally wanted to try the bow tie look when I saw bow ties at the Pike Place Market.
ReplyDeletePlease consider give it a try sometime!
DeleteLooks like a mini tuxedo in a lady version.
ReplyDeleteAll I need are... suspenders? A cummerbund? and I'll be all set ;)
DeleteI missed the original shoe post (probably all discombobulated from the last few weeks of being preggo lol), but those are gorgeous! They look almost sparkly? Like a magpie, I am instantly attracted to sparkly / shiny things. Too often, I'll be walking out of a store and stop to admire some nearby bauble. Annoys my husband to no end ("I thought we were leeaaaaavvvviiiiinnng").
ReplyDeleteUm, sorry for the novel. Love the bow tie - you look so dapper!
Hahaha I'm like your husband except my line is "Are we done yet?", "Can we go now?" I'm such an annoying little kid sometimes ;)
DeleteNow that you mention it, the shoes do have sort of a translucent quality to it, depending on lighting. It was one of the rare purchases that I seriously considered buying doubles for. I didn't, so I hope this pair will last me for a long while!
So classic and simple. I love it! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeletethis is just SO adorable! you make this menswear inspired look so feminine and chic!! xox P
ReplyDeleteYour pinkish outfit is so cute! Bow tie adding little fun, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYup! When fashion stops being fun is when I'll stop blogging ;)
DeleteThank you. You make the bow seem like such a cute and fun accessory. :)
ReplyDeleteIt definitely appeals to my quirky side ;)
DeleteEqually addicting? Browsing Pinterest for ways to make your own. I would need to take a year off of work just to complete all of the projects I have pinned right now :)
ReplyDeleteI love the bow tie...you can never go wrong with polka dots!
I'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
