Spot the Stripes
Wednesday, July 25, 2012The third time's the charm for these adorable striped flats (if I may say so myself). The first pair fit much too small. The second pair was bought on sale, waiting to be worn with the right outfit. As it sat there, J.Crew decided to discount the flats even further, so back goes pair #2. Say hello to pair #3, bought during the recent final sale (which for once I didn't dread over fit).
That's my Goldilocks moment of the sale season.
Have a great day!

ah christine those flats! i LOVE them! i have had my eye on them for a while! you look gorgeous, girl :)
ReplyDeleteWhat size do you wear, Molly? A 5.5 is still available (though I recommend you go up half a size from your normal) :)
DeleteAdorable outfit, and I love those flats! I spotted them in the J.Crew final sale, but my size was sadly already gone. Love the polka dot dress, too. Great outfit :)

Let's follow each other!
Boo! I've been through the dilemma of "buy now at full price" vs. "wait for a final sale but risking my size be gone" too many times myself :( Perhaps keep an eye on eBay?
Deletei bought those flats awhile ago, i love them. i also have the similar looking heels. i bought the flats half a size up, since thats what the reviews i read said to do and they fit perfectly. i love them with that polka dot dress!
ReplyDeleteLucky duck! You're talking about the peep-toe version with a bow for the heels, right? They are SO CUTE! I saw something similar at Ann Taylor Factory where in place of a bow, they used a knot. The shoes themselves had the same navy/white stripe combo. SO CUTE but my size was long sold out.
DeleteAlright, I just realized I capitalized SO CUTE twice. Still on a little coffee high even late in the afternoon apparently, haha.
DeleteThis is a lovely pairing. polka dots(check), stripes(check) and throw in some pop of color, perfect !!! Sadly my size was gone before I got my hands on it.

If you must have them, I say call a store to see if they can search their in-store inventory. Or keep refreshing the site to see if there are pop-backs (unlikely given it's final sale, but someone may have bought it prior at a regular sale). Good luck!
Deletethats the only way to go with final sale! nice buy!! i got the leopard print flats, but no idea on fit. cant wait for my loot to come tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAre the leopard ones considered part of the Viv line? If so, I hope you went up half a size! As always, looking forward to your J.Crew reviews :)
Deletecute story! and i love this look on you!

lol, I am going to quote one of my female coworker's comment on my clothes,"You have a story behind everything you wear." Love this one.
ReplyDeleteHaha, it sure beats drawing a complete blank when trying to write up a post :) My life's in a sad state when I consider stories like this exciting, lol.
DeleteI'm definitely finding a way to wear stripes and dots now. that combo is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to get those flats and for sale! Exciting to see the ways you'll style those cute flats!
ReplyDeleteYou know me too well ;) The flats will sure be making countless appearances over the next few weeks!
DeleteThey say third time is a charm. Those shoes were worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to pattern match. Dots and stripes do go well together.
