30 for 30: Bows x 4
Saturday, February 12, 2011Warning: bows overload! I'm counting four. Is that excessive? It certainly wasn't my intention to walk around wrapped like a gift today, but it's too late to do anything about it :)
My brother came over to my apartment today. Out of nowhere he said he was hungry. We had eaten less than 3 hours ago! So I said there's frozen chicken wings/fingers in the freezer and he can help himself. The next thing I knew, he had all the food laid out and the oven preheated. The difference between me and him? I microwave and don't care if the chicken turns a bit soggy. He doesn't mind the extra work and longer wait for better taste. And he's also never been in my kitchen before but yet he figured out the oven just like that. My little brother makes me feel like a kitchen n00b.

The bows are not the same style, they are all in different colors so I don't find it overwhelming at all! I only see 3 bows: shoes, necklace, sash where is the last one? =0P
ReplyDeletePssht, your younger brother obviously wasn't hungry enough heehee. Ahh, but a crispy chicken nugget does taste infinitely better than a soggy one. That's why I have a toaster oven heehee, faster cooking time!
My little brother is always hungry too! The only difference is he pretends he doens't know how to cook anything and I always end up feeding him.
ReplyDeleteI love this dress by the way. I've been fiending for a white dress for a while and this one is perfect!
Complex Cardigans
Same with my younger brother.. my mother does everything for him lol.
ReplyDeleteI like most of my foods heated in the toaster oven too. haha.
I like this outfit! I didn't notice the bows until you mentioned it. :)
The bows look fine and I almost didn't notice the one on your necklace! I'm always a fan of your bright blue tights and your layered looks.
ReplyDeleteAs for food, I'm definitely an oven person over the microwave...it just tastes so much better! =)
I like the unexpecte pairing of Chanel with the jeans jacket...casual chic. And I only see 3 bows unless you count the bow on each shoe?
ReplyDeleteI never would have noticed all the bows had you not pointed them out - I think the shoes count on as one bow. Even with 4, I don't think it's excessive bc it's definitely not in your face. I love how you make everything look so pulled together and sophisticated - it's quite the gift!
ReplyDeleteNo such thing as too many bows! I like what you did with the sash there.
ReplyDeletei love all the little bows in this outfit and this is a great way to style bright tights! i absolutely love it.
ReplyDeletecute and little
@Banhannas - Haha, I counted the shoes twice! What is this toaster oven that I keep hearing about? Must do more research.
ReplyDelete@Jenn - I don't even have to pretend to not know how to cook. But he's still not sympathetic lol.
@JenlovesBal - My mom spoiled both of us. But he turned out alright whereas I'm still a mess :P
@Stylepint - It took me some time, but I think I'm finally comfortable with these bright blue tights. Maybe it's time to branch out and try other colors :)
@Jarucha - Yep, I cheated and counted the shoes twice :D
@SewPetiteGal, @En Bouton, @kileen - Thanks so much girls :)
Cee, no more microwaving those chicken bits from now on! I am also lazy and can't wait for food but I just sit in front of the oven while the chicken cooks and it's totally worth the wait. Even I can do it! And I am the quintessential kitchen noob! :)
ReplyDeleteYour outfit is giving me bow fever! Is your brother a little chubby? my bro eats like a pig and he's still a bag of bones.
ReplyDelete@Elle - Haha! The microwave is just so darn convenient! And every time I turn on the oven, I feel like I'm going to burn myself. Irrational fear that one day I will get over :)
ReplyDelete@Lisa - Nope, not the least bit chubby. Thin as a rail, lol. Not sure how you feel, but I'm envious of his metabolism!
brothers are the best yes?
ReplyDeleteyou know what else is pretty awesome/ THAT DRESS!!! i love the tiered effect and your bright blue tights are such a pretty dash of color!!! love the ribbons too. you can't too many hehe.
I'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
