Just a simple, no fuss outfit to start off the new work week. Have a good one!
Continuing with the pink (and red) theme from the last post, even though Valentine's Day is long behind us. I keep all my clutches in their respective dust bags on a high shelf when not in use, so sometimes I forget their existence. Shame on me. The Jenny Yuen clutch I'm carrying today was one of my earliest purchases when I first became interested in bags. I remember she and Rebecca Minkoff were up-and-comers around the same time. Unfortunately I don't think JY is in business any longer. I miss her clean designs and use of high quality materials. Note to self: must remember to reach for this pink clutch more often now that spring's right around the corner!
When it comes to styling this cowlneck sweater, I think I've gone through just about my entire button-up stash. Green, chambray, stripes, red, plaid, printed, and now gingham. The neon pink color and fabric material are both on the casual side, so I planned the rest of the outfit with this in mind.
Have a good Thursday, everyone!
The last time I wore these boots, I chose to pair them with a skirt and a busy top. I didn't really like how that outfit turned out, so decided to keep things much simpler this time around. No patterns, neutral colors, and minimal layering. If I could've swapped out either the jacket or dress for a non-leather piece while keeping the same silhouette and color scheme, I would've done so. Though I think the suede bottom helps balance out the all-leather top somewhat?
I saved this orange and blue outfit for today's post because well, I don't know if my team will still be in the tournament after next weekend, haha. I sure hope so! (Sorry, until we lose, you'll have to put up with my obnoxious homerisms). Go hoos! #Sweet16

A quick post this mid-week with an outfit that's a reflection of the current state of my mind. Between catching up with work on a shortened week (snow. again.) and containing my excitement for the college basketball tournament that starts tomorrow (don't know why I torture myself with reading/watching everything I can find because all the experts have my team going out early), getting dressed in the mornings is the last thing on my mind. So, just making it easier on myself by sticking to a tried-and-true formula of neutrals + trousers with the same shoes + coat with the same sweater.
The longer I look at today's outfit photos, the more I'm doubting my jacket choice. While the tweed and lace combination essentially works due to the similar color scheme, I think I should've gone with something simpler on the bottom (like dark washed jeans) or a solid colored jacket (like my tan leather jacket). Live and learn, right? :)

Happy shopping and have a great weekend!
I'm keeping things simple today in a classic color palette with a blazer, tee, and jeans. If there is an outfit that is me, this would be it. Have a good Thursday, everyone!
What a difference a few days make. The snow's melted, the sun's shining, and I'm more than happy to welcome spring with open arms in pastel colors today. Cheers to more nice weather ahead!
The formula for today's outfit (sweater + plaid + tee + jeans + boots) is a repeat from the other day. The difference? Instead of using warm colors, I chose cool colors from the other half of the spectrum (well, with the exception of the necklace). Oh yeah, my facial expressions also look more normal today ;)
When a reader asked me about Ferragamo flats awhile back, I immediately thought of (and assumed) she was referring to the Varina flats (due to their popularity perhaps?) Then my mind wandered to my own pair of bow flats... that I have not worn in months. D'oh! So for today's look, I made a conscious effort to build an outfit around my shoes, instead of leaving footwear as an afterthought.
In the voice of Chandler Bing, could I be any more smug-looking (in the second photo)?! Sorry, that was one of the better photos -- good hair day, good pose day, so please excuse the face. Apparently looking normal was a lot to ask on this particular day.
Another Monday, another snow day. Hope y'all have a good one!
I wore this outfit earlier in the week when the forecast called for a 30% chance of snow mid-morning. Pshhh, that's pretty much nonexistent, so off I went to work in suede ankle boots and a nice coat. Umm... that 30% turned into 100% pretty quickly. Crap! I resigned myself to having to clean off my car for the afternoon commute home in my "nice" clothes. Somehow, some way, those few inches of snow completely melted by the time I got off work. Dressing appropriately lesson not learned.
