Jeggings... Finally

Monday, November 12, 2012

I'm often late to the game when it comes to fashion choices. The most recent example? Jeggings. I've tried on many over the years (the latest being Old Navy rockstars) but haven't come across one that felt right, until now.

Having had luck with LOFT jeans in the past, I figured I'd give their jeggings a try. I went with my usual size, 24R, and really liked how I pulled them over my ankles with ease without having to hop up and down. The next issue I usually have is the comfort level. Most jeggings make me feel like a stuffed sausage, but this pair was so comfortable, both sitting and standing.

I washed the jeans once before wearing them for the first time, but there was still some denim transfer. I should've known better than to wear it with a light colored trench (!) Sigh. At least it happened on the inside lining.

The LOFT denim jeggings are currently on sale for $41.70 (40% off from $69.50) with code FRIENDS until tonight 11/12.

sunglasses: Walmart aviator (similar)
lips: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in coral crush (sold here)
top: Gap Pure longline tunic (sold here - 30% off with code GETSTARTED - exp. 11/14)
bracelets: Forever 21 swirled pearlescent bead cuff (similar);
jeans: LOFT denim leggings (sold here - 40% off with code FRIENDS - exp. 11/12)

    1. I remember the first time I noticed dirt on the underside of the trench's sleeves, I got so pissed. At myself for not knowing how it happened, and then not knowing how to clean it off. But then I got over it. So when the denim transfer happened, it was kinda like, ehh... what's another mark, lol.

    1. I didn't have much luck on the main material =/ Had better luck with the inner fabric lining, but I think I'll just wait awhile longer before taking it in to a Burberry store for cleaning. Knowing me, the minute I get it cleaned, it'll be dirty again, haha.

  5. Sorry to hear about your trench, Cee! Regardless, the leggings look great on you. Black leggings are so easy to wear on those lazy days for me.

    1. Boo at color transfer :( I noticed some on my Bal bag (probably weeks after it happened) but for some reason it seems worse on a piece of clothing.

  8. I love jeggings! Though I only have one pair that I've worn to death and need to be replaced. Sucks about the color transfer (to your Burberry coat!!!!!) but at least they look great :) I'll have to check out Loft next time!

  9. Other than the color transfer, these jeggings sound (and look) perfect on you! If you can believe it I still haven't found a pair that I am even 80% happy with...will keep other LOFT styles in mind for future reference! :)

  11. I hated the idea of jeggings when they first appeared! Even my mother had a pair before I did. I realized it was because I really hated the fake denim look. Now that the trend has exploded, there are tons of options out there, and I found that American Eagle and GAP actually make really decent quality ones that have the look and feel of denim, but the fit and comfort of a legging!

    1. Thanks for sharing your jeggings experience, Joanna. I've tried AE regular jeans in the past but they never fit right on my body type. Same with Gap. It's been awhile now, so I think I'll have to give these two stores another shot.

    1. Girl, you haven't seen my behind lately. I swear I feel like my hips/butt are getting bigger. I suppose it's true that we're our own harshest critics. Don't give up the search though because there are so many options out there!

  13. One day...just ONE DAY I'll get a classic burberry trench and a classic chanel bag (hopefully the bag won't be like 10x the price right now lol...)

    1. The evil side of me won't mind price increases. If I ever sell, that'll be a nice chunk of change, muahaha. But seriously, Chanel really needs to step up the quality to be on par with the retail price.

  14. I don't think I have a true pair of Jeggings...I have the Gap jean leggings...but that's it! Now that we have Ann Taylor I might give these a try! My only issue is that we don't seem to be getting the great sales that you guys get. Gah!

  15. Wow! These look great, can these be worn for working out also? I was hoping if this could complete my workout gear also. I love being in leggings all the time, so wearing outside casually and in the gym as well is what my idea is! Anyways, you look good!
