Fall Colors
Wednesday, November 14, 2012It took me awhile to warm up to brown/gold (prefer black/silver), but over time, I've accumulated variations of both colors in my wardrobe. To date, I still think this olive-brown cardigan I'm wearing under the blazer is one of the hardest colors to pair. As the main color, it sometimes reminds me of vomit, but as an accent color, no such thoughts cross my mind. I suppose for some things, less is more.

i don't think it looks like vomit! that olive-brown color is super pretty for fall! :]
ReplyDeleteLol! Dijon mustard usually comes to mind, not vomit! You did a great job pairing these.
ReplyDeleteCatching up on your blog...love that you wore your poppy scarf over Veterans Day weekend! I thought of you this week when we discussed Veterans Day in my classroom...the poppies reminded me of you! :)
A few shades lighter and the color can pass for dijon mustard ;)
DeleteDarn it! I wish I can take credit for wearing poppies over Veteran's Day :( Sadly, it was just a lucky coincidence.
i love this color combo pairing. did not occur to me the vomit. very cute and you did a great job.

I love this colour combination. Olive green looks lovely with autumnal colours brown, mustard yellow, burnt orange and tomato red.

You nailed the color pairings for olive green. Now I'm wanting some burnt orange and tomato red in my life :)
DeleteGreat outfit. I love the color combination.

Love this color combo too! To this day I'm still afraid of wearing bright colors =( I'm so regretting not getting this Gap blouse back then when I tried it on in store after seeing it on you...
ReplyDeleteLove all of these colors together - just gorgeous! Perfect fall palette. :)

OMG Cee me too!!! I was NEVER a gold wearing person before but I just started wearing pieces recently. It still takes some getting used to and even my mom commented as I would cringe at the site of gold jewellery when I was younger LOL!
ReplyDeleteDoes gold remind you of old people? For some reason that's what I always associated with, haha. Team silver!
DeleteThat shade always looks good when paired with dark greens and browns, exactly like how you styled it in this outfit! I've always been a gold person.. It just seems more warm and inviting than silver!

Love everything about this look! I have always been a fan of the gold/brown (unlike maybe of the other commentors, i'm not much a fan of silver). Great way to pull it together!!
ReplyDeleteAlso agree that the brown cardi under ur blazer does not look at all like vomit. It's a beautiful olive mustard! Great for fall.
