...And Take Two
Sunday, March 09, 2014The formula for today's outfit (sweater + plaid + tee + jeans + boots) is a repeat from the other day. The difference? Instead of using warm colors, I chose cool colors from the other half of the spectrum (well, with the exception of the necklace). Oh yeah, my facial expressions also look more normal today ;)
sunglasses: Walmart aviator (similar)
lips: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in softsilver rose (sold here)
tee: Everlane the women's V (sold here)
jeans: LOFT super skinny jeans in deconstructed garden blue (sold here - 30% off + free shipping w/code FIRSTLOOK)

Ooo loving the cute ruffle plaid shirt!! - JP*
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit! Just some constructive criticism but I don't think those dark brown boots look quite right with light wash skinny jeans. It kinda awkwardly segments the leg line. I hope you don't mind me saying this! I lurk on your blog everyday and I usually love all of your outfits.
ReplyDeleteOf course! I welcome all feedback. I had the same train of thoughts when I first got the boots and was trying to figure out what to wear them with... how dark to how light colored pants can I get away with? I think white jeans were too bright and created too much of a contrast, which is too bad because I actually own a pair of white skinnies. I was torn with the black skinnies and brown boots combo, but concluded that it's a matter of personal preference if black and brown go together. Then that leaves blue denim. Dark washes looked the best (imo) with these boots because they both have a semi-dressy feel. I literally wore this combo for three days straight, haha. I then wanted to branch out to a more casual vibe and figured lighter washed jeans fit the bill. I think it's a combination me forcing the boots to be versatile (when sometimes you just can't) and making do with what I have in my wardrobe. Perhaps gray jeans would be a good compromise between not-too-casual and dressy? Now I just have to find myself a pair :) Thanks for taking the time to come out of lurkdom!
DeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
