Day 27/30: Double Layering
Saturday, July 09, 2011I'm seriously running out of ideas now, so pardon the likeness of today's outfit to this previous one.
What I said about no more new bags unless one goes? Clutches (and giveaway wins) shouldn't count, right? They're really accessories. Ok, you can tell I'm grasping at excuses, especially since I saw the most gorgeous brown embossed envelope clutch from H&M yesterday. It will be mine soon, I hope :)
A big thanks to Sunshine for this BCBG bow clutch in beige/gold! I love her. It's kind of dressy but I'm determined to find ways to wear it casually.
dress as top: Forever 21 (similar - sleeveless)
belt: Forever 21 (similar)
skirt: Forever 21 (may still be in stores; similar)

Oh, I LOVE that clutch. And yes, it is totally an accessory and should not count as a handbag :) I'm also loving your necklace combo today. I always love to see people layering necklaces, but never have the cojones to do it myself. Must try harder...
ReplyDeleteSuper cute Cee and conrats on winning the clutch! Is the f21 dress too big for u?
ReplyDeleteI have some bright orange shorts and I now know how to style them. Thanks for sharing this look
ReplyDeleteSuuuuper cute, see! But where's the full body with sunglasses shot? You've been spoiling us lately! :)
ReplyDeleteI meant to type cee, not see. Stupid spellcheck!
ReplyDeleteThe clutch is soo pretty!
ReplyDeleteMan that is a gorgeous clutch! I love how you put this dress over a skirt. I make short dresses into tops sometimes too but I usually put it over jeans. I should try it over skirts or shorts next time!
ReplyDeleteThat skirt is so bright and fun, and it seems surprisingly versatile.
ReplyDeletegorgeous clutch! And its so exciting how close you are to being done the 30 for 30! Aren't you dying to try your other clothes on? I definitely was when I did it.

I think this outfit is fresh and still effortlessly chic! I love how you added the layered necklaces that stand out and make a statement.
ReplyDeleteOh...and lucky you for winning such a great clutch! ;)
You have won quite a few giveaways! Lucky girl :)
ReplyDeletecongrats on the clutch! It is so pretty! I didn't even know when she announced the winner, I need to catch up on my blogs!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning the clutch. It's so pretty. I can't wait for the challenge to be over..lol. I love how you wore 2 necklaces together =)
ReplyDeleteOh, stunning clutch! You lucky, girl, you! I do agree, clutches and giveaway wins definitely don't count. Forge on, you're almost done with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an adorable combo! Your almost done the challenge...way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteYour necklaces are beautiful and I love your color combination!
ReplyDeletethe clutch is so pretty! so happy for you that you're almost done :) good idea for the one comes/ one goes motto for the bags (tho i dont think i have that much will power?)
ReplyDelete@Erin @ MomsHaveStyle2 - Hahaha, thank you for validating my excuse to buy more bags ;)
ReplyDelete@Really Petite - Yes the dress is too big and too short :( I'm too cheap to get it slimmed... notice how on the right picture where I untucked too much of the dress from the belt? Not too flattering. I wish I had caught it while taking pics.
@Anna - You're welcome, Anna! Do let me know how your outfit turns out :)
@kimmie - Those full shots are supposed to be on the rare occasions I have sunglasses handy ;)
@The Little Dust Princess, @Olyvia, @hurricanekerrie - Thank you! Sunshine has good taste ;)
@Elaine A (TOBeautyReviews) - I thought about wearing dresses over jeans, but none looked quite right in my head. Do you wear it over jeggings? Skinnies?
@Jane - I know, right? For such a bright color, I thought I would have a harder time incorporating into my wardrobe. Now, if it was a few inches longer... then I'd be able to wear it to work too :)
@Kelly - You bet! Unfortunately (no willpower), I bought some things this past month, so I'm itching to get my hands on them.
@Kish, @Callandra - Since I had to reuse an almost entirely same outfit, I had to mix up the accessories somehow, right? Thank goodness layering necklaces came to mind :)
@Bethany - Does this mean I should go out and buy some lottery tickets? Before my luck runs out and all, haha.
@PetiteLittleGirl - Me too! 30 days doesn't seem like an awful long time in the beginning, but it sure is the last few days.
@Tara - I can see the finish line now. Thank you for your support!
@purses and puppies - Hahaha, I SAY that, but I haven't had to exert my willpower on the bags... yet (?)
WoW! I love that dressy clutch! So chic! Great win!
