Day 26/30: Darkness
Friday, July 08, 2011I tend to choose photo locations based on the scenery. But what I should be paying attention to is the contrast between my clothing colors and the background. Dark top against a dark background? Not exactly the best idea, but I'm still learning as I go :)
top: Ann Taylor - gift from Elle (similar - short-sleeves)
belt: Express (similar)
shorts: American Eagle (this season's version sold here)
flats: Mossimo (similar)

ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. It's so simple, but so chic. The top is adorable!
ReplyDeleteaaah, who are you kidding...you still look sensational no matter what the background! love that classy black/white combo...wish that was me in that photo! ;)
ReplyDeleteOooo I need some white shorts! Do the waist fit well? Love ur outfit and the background is super pretty!!
ReplyDeletehahahah, i've done the same thing. i've also done white against an almost white background, too. i'm kinda lazy and use whatever i find first and tend not to think about these things!

I love that first photo. Your legs look so long!
ReplyDeleteI love the dots on your blouse..so subtle and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is divine!
ReplyDeleteI have been away from the petite blogging community for awhile, so I have missed out on seeing the 30/30's. I just scrolled through all yours...ah!!! So great! I love that you are changing up the location quite a bit, too!!
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white, Cee! So classic! But somehow you managed to make it contemporary with the shorts. Nice.
ReplyDeletethe black top is fantastic-o! I know what you mean by sometimes not getting great locations! Your pics are usually great, so dont worry too much :)

I love the varied backgrounds. I love that your outfit just contains two colors, but is still interesting. I've tried the black & white combo out sometimes, but think it looks too plain on me. I'll have to try styling it like this next time. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you all :) Sometimes keeping it simple is the way to go.
ReplyDelete@Really Petite - If AE hasn't changed its sizing, then I think you're going to find the shorts to be too big :( I'm wearing 00 and it fits my waist perfectly. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Your legs are so Loooong!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you taking these pics by yourself or is the BF helping you out?
Classic and chic and always!
@Elaine A (TOBeautyReviews) - Nope, no help from bf. His schedule doesn't align with mine most of the time :) Somehow the combination of camera angle + short shorts made my legs look super long today. I swear I have normal proportions, but I'll take it ;)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit!! So simple and sleek and striking!
ReplyDeleteLoving that necklace! Also still staring at your long legs - you look like you need to just live in shorts and minis :)
ReplyDeleteI need to think about adding more polka dot as a pattern into my wardrobe. I'd like to start off w/a blouse vs bottoms. yes, I will add this to the bottom of my list.
ReplyDeleteHa! I do that all of the time, except my problems always involve wearing light colors against the white doors in my bathroom. I just turn out to be this floating head in all of my pictures :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this outfit...I'm always looking for new ways to 'class' up my shorts, and these pictures are going straight into my inspiration file!
I'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
