#1 bandwagoner
Sunday, April 10, 2011Hi bandwagon? I'm Cee. And I'm your #1 fan. Military + gingham + bling is all the rage right now (or at least that's what my eyes are noticing). So when I found the perfect military jacket, hippity-hop onto the bandwagon I go. How do you feel about the military trend?

I like the military trend but I find myself looking a bit silly in it...but you Cee...is there a trend you don't look good in? :D
ReplyDeleteAt first, I was a was a little unsure of this trend. I think it's been growing on me though as lately I've found myself attracted to forest and olive shades of green and have been contemplating purchasing some skinny cargo pants. I recently purchased a gingham print top last month, so it looks like the military bandwagon will be my next stop too! :)
ReplyDeleteI think you combined the trends really well in your outfit. Love the bag you chose to pair your outfit with. The hardware goes well with the military jacket. :)
ReplyDeleteI love trends and ardently participate in most of them! Lol I am not a fan of gingham for me though.....however, I've learned never to say never ;) I love that jacket on you!...can't remember, are we about the same height?
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of avoiding the military trend, too... But you look GREAT in it! I love how you paired it with the more girlie purple gingham shirt.
ReplyDeleteWho cares if it's all the rage when you look that freaking good in it?! I avoided the military forever, but after seeing how you made it look so feminine, I may have to rethink that.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE military and I think have for the longest time. There's something about the classic, strong colors and the details just draw me in. You already know that I love how you wear your gingham :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a very chic outfit! A great weekend at the coffee shop outfit. Maybe that's on my mind bc I could use some coffee. Either way, I like how you used these trendy comforts.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit. You look amazing.
ReplyDeleteP.S. We are having a giveaway over on my blog. I hope you can jump over and enter.

as usual, you look very stylish! :)
ReplyDeleteyou know, i didnt get too into the military trend this time around. i did get a military looking winter coat and now i'm kinda regreting it because i'm afraid it will look dated next winter season. oh well!
I love this look! Great outfit!

I'm not crazy about the military trend, but I've seen a couple people who make me think twice about it ... and you are one of them. wow -- I really really like this look. Funny thing is, is that I had bookmarked another person (The Locals) wearing similar colors and patterns (she had a navy blue and white striped maxi, and off-white long-sleeved tee, and an olive-green jacket. http://thelocals.dk/ I really liked the way the colors went together -- and now here you have almost the exact same color scheme. really really like how you did this!
ReplyDeleteThe military trend seems to be going on for a long time now (like years it seems, haha), so I think it's becoming a classic and everyone needs a military item! I use to be excited about military-inspired jackets because it makes me feel I can be stranded on an island with it and feel safe and efficient (and now I own like 3!) but then the jackets I bought makes me feel like a guy sometimes. Your jacket with the rounded-collar makes is soft and feminine! I also love the moss green and purple color combination! I was even excited to see the purple gingham color combination on Rex on the show Perfect Couples on NBC: http://thumbnails.hulu.com/656/50135656/254240_512x288_generated.jpg in the recent episode 10 season 1 "Perfect ex's"...my favorite show of the moment, have you watched it! I love their preppy fashion on that show too! :)
ReplyDeletethank you for visiting my blog and for the lovely comment!
ReplyDeletei love the fatigue jacket mix with something preppy or girly look. i love your mix!
cheers,

ooh, adore your look! I might have to copy it as I have a military jacket that I need to wear more often (except mine's pink - not sure it would really qualify as "military" - LOL!)
ReplyDeleteSuch an entertaining writer :) Cee- seriously though... the bandwagon LOVES you. You always find a way to make the trend your own - and because of that you always look comfortable in the trends so they always look stunning on you. Loving the military look too!! Army green = <3
ReplyDeletewhether you're on the bandwagon or not, you look great! it's def. another look i'll have to store in my *inspiration files*! oh and would you be my roommate so we can share clothes, hehe? ;)
ReplyDeleteoh, btw, the LOFT skirt seems to be made of a linen material which could be problematic if worn to the office b/c you'll get that "crease" in the thigh area. =/ oh wells...i guess i'll have to move on and find another skirt to obsess over. =P
oh this is the perfect military jacket!! i love this trend on you and you have the perfect bag to complete the look too!
ReplyDeletecute & little

ReplyDeleteI love the military trend, I just haven't been able to find the right piece.

The jacket fits you well Cee! I purchased one from Nordstrom and it was huge and ended up returning lol.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of military trends too but can't pull off half of what I would want to wear. You look terrific though...so jealous that you can wear different styles effortlessly!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm a fan of the military look or just military colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I like the military trend. I haven't been able to find much that has looked good on me though.
ReplyDeleteI like the military trend but am not sure if I can pull it off. You pull it off so well, Cee. Great outfit as always :)
ReplyDelete@Really Petite - Yes! Lots. Shall I name them? :) Like the J.Crew Minnies cropped look, long dresses, over-the-knee boots, just to name a few.
ReplyDelete@♥☮Renee - It's funny you should bring up skinny cargos because I started noticing that way before these jackets. I think those pants would look great with heels, maybe not so much with flats, hence my never trying them out. Can't wait to see how you rock your look!
@Cupcaking - Thank you! I can't wait credit for the bag. It's my fallback whenever I'm not sure what to wear/carry :)
@Callandra - You are my inspiration for so many looks! I love how versatile you are. I'm a bit taller than you at almost 5'5". I know, I don't look tall in my pictures :)
@Tiffany, @Kristen - Perhaps the more I wear this jacket, you girls will slowly come around :)
@SewPetiteGal - I can't believe it's taken me this long. You'd think that I'd give anything casual a try, asap!
@Lisa Lisa Lisa - Thank you! I usually try to stick to one trendy piece at a time, but I couldn't help pair up both the gingham with the jacket. But I do like the end result :)
@Sunny & Star, @Kelly, @modern.girl, @kileen, @PetiteLittleGirl - Thank you!
@Leena - I bet if you keep it around for oh, another 5-7 years, the trend will come back. And you'll look like you're way ahead of the game :)
@Kari - Thank you! Wow, her outfit sounds great. I'll have to be sure to check out the site you linked!
@Olyvia - Haha! That's me, a follower, never a trend-setter :P Just watch, as soon as I jump on the bandwagon, I'll be left in the dust as another trend rolls around. I hadn't heard of Perfect Couples but now you've got me intrigued. I love how Rex is wearing the purple shirt too. I wonder if it's from J.Crew men's?!
@Tiffany - I am Style-ish - That's even better! Girly and military already mixed in. I'd love to see the jacket featured in one of your lookbooks in the future :)
@Aubrey - You're way too nice! Sometimes I wonder if I come off trying too hard, ie too cheesy-sounding. But... it's my blog right?!
@Kimchi Girl - I never had a sister growing up, so this whole sharing clothes concept is foreign but sounds so FUN at the same time :)
@Miranda, @GorJess Fashion For Less - Don't give up; I'm sure the right piece is out there :)
@JenlovesBal - I usually take XS (and sometimes XXS) in AE, but I sized up to a S on this jacket. And I'm so glad I did because now I can happily layer underneath!
@Elle - Oh Elle, you wear so many styles that I can only dream of pulling off. Wanna trade for a day?!
@AubreyOhDang! - SD has a lot of navy guys right? I read somewhere that it's the best city for single girls and DC (where I live) is the best city for single guys. I bet you're a fan of the crisp white uniforms ;)
This outfit is awesome...I really like it!
ReplyDeleteO M G so freakin' cute!!! i love military with girly right now.. it's so bleepin' cute together!!
ReplyDeletei love your new military jacket.. i've been searching for one just like it!
haha in response to your comment no i don't feel awkward taking pictures in fancy restaurants.. although wayfare tavern is probably a more mid level priced restaurant.. but i've been in uber fancy restaurants and still snapped away.. haha.. it could be that i lack social graces.. but.. it's probably more to do with the fact that i don't really care what other people think HAHA. no but seriously i think food documentation is so common these days (with things like yelp and blogging) people don't really seem to notice my camera.
As usual, your outfit is soo awesome. I'm so disappointed that AE doesn't have that jacket online anymore. The outfit is so simple but oh so put together. Thanks for being an inspiration!
ReplyDelete@Tara - Thank you!
ReplyDelete@Lisa - Keep looking in stores for the jacket because it's sold out online now :(
I need to be less self-conscious :P Plus, get a better camera so the flash isn't blinding lol.
@b_ra - What size are you in AE jackets? I'll keep a look out for you when I'm at the mall since you're so far away :)
I love the color of the jacket!! Such a pretty tone of green!

I like the military trend and the way you mixed it with the gingham. I also love the way you wrote this. Sometime jumping on the bandwagon is fun, sometimes;-)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Bre
Great look regardless of a trend! Love the jacket.
ReplyDeleteYou do the bandwagon better than anyone else I know...I'm always amazed at how you can take something trendy, and make it look ridiculously classy on yourself. It's kind of not fair, you know :)
ReplyDeleteI am really loving how you paired the bright blue of the shirt with the military green of the jacket. Perfect!
Military is working for you! And I will totally get in line behind you as Mr. Bandwagon's number 2 fan! I find myself hopping on board quite often.
ReplyDeleteI have one military inspired item, and I love using it to downplay over the top girly items, since my closet is bursting with those.
Looking great, Cee! This look I might copy just so you know ;-) Totally my style, love everything about it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
