In my clutches
Saturday, April 23, 2011I love clutches, but it's always been more of a spring/summer accessory to me. So... as soon as the nice weather rolled around, I've been trying to use it as often as possible. Take this Jenny Yuen clutch for example. I've carried it every day this week. Every day! Usually the fickleness in me changes bags every day or two. I blame it on my love for spring.
How do you feel about clutches?

That skirt is so fabulous, I love the way you styled it!

Ooh I love this skirt. I have yet to own a clutch.. it's just too much work to hold on to it. I like my bags I can throw over my shoulder, or a wristlet if I'm just carrying a little bit of stuff.
ReplyDeleteMan, I use the same bag EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. kind of boring, but it's not like I have a million amazing bags like you ;)
I love, love, love clutches! I don't know why, but I've had clutch fever lately. That one is so perfect and I understand why you've been relying on it.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your JYuen clutch with your spring outfits! the rose color leather is so beautiful! It makes me want to look for purses that color now. I'm a fan of clutches if they have some sort of strap like for wrist or arm, as to free the hands. I don't think I actually own a clutch, but if I ever find one I like, it'll probably be more for evening/party wear. I need to haul a lot of thing in huge bag for everyday wear.
ReplyDeleteoh I also forgot to comment that I love your skirt too! i remembered you posting you were looking for polka dot skirts, so I'm glad you found a cute one! Perfect for Easter weekend too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Spring outfit! I'm still lusting after your flats... I found some clip on black fabric bows from F21 that look very similar, now I just need some plain flats to clip them on to! :)
ReplyDeleteI love clutches! I want one, but have yet to own one... It's not practical for me. You've got some great bags, Cee!
You change bags every day or two? I am the opposite. I stick with one bag for a long time. :) I am too lazy to move things around. I am afraid to forget things.
ReplyDeleteI am just starting to know clutches. I don't own one, but I am eying a Rebecca Minkoff MAC if I ever get one. I want a clutch with optional shoulder strap as well so it's more useful. :)
You look stylish as always, and thank you so much for giving me the privilege to see your pretty face.
Totally hear you Cee, I change purses almost everyday as well ;) I do love clutches but they never seem capable of carrying everything I "need" to have with me! Lol I proably own a total of three (not a whole heck of a lot given my purse collection)......but I have been eyeing them lately.....so stylish and chic I think.
ReplyDeletei'm really loving clutches right now too!! it's forced me to downsize how much i carry in my purse, but it's a great change of pace and it feels nice to lighten up for spring/summer. :) i love the polka-dotted skirt too!
ReplyDeletecute & little
OMG I LOVE this outfit! So cute. I can never get skirts quite right, so I'm always totally inspired to see others looking so put together! Cute, cute, cute!
ReplyDeletei always saw clutches as an accessory for sophisticated fashionistas (i.e. Cee, hehe). i got my first clutch last year (yes, i know...late bloomer here) but hardly ever wear it unless it's for a non-work, non-errand day. but lately i've been looking to increase my collection and hopefully work my way up to using them more often.
ReplyDeletethis entire ensemble is way to cute for words. that skirt!!! *squeal*
I love clutches too. I probably own about 20 (I'm a handbag freak that switch purses almost every day). I tend to carry them when we go out to dinner on the weekends or to church b/c they don't hold everything I "need" but they just amp up at any look. I just carried a sleek white patent clutch out tonight. Love your outfit here, that skirt is adorable!
ReplyDelete@Miranda, @Erin - Thank you :) The skirt is a tad big around the waist, so I tried my best at tucking in the top to hide the gap. Hopefully it didn't come off too noticeably.
ReplyDelete@kimmie - Hehe, I (only) have 7 amazing (to me) bags :) I hope I'm done for now... if I do ever buy another one, I really should sell a current one (hopefully I won't let emotion dictate my reasoning). Space is getting to be an issue living in a small apartment :)
@Lisa Lisa Lisa - Because it's spring and clutches are the best way to accessorize an outfit? :D That's what I tell myself anyway! Which ones do you have your eyes on?
@Olyvia - The wrist strap is actually one of the reasons I bought this JY clutch! I tend to tuck it in the back pocket when carrying, but it comes in so handy when I'm washing my hands, etc.
@Aubrey - Yay for a step closer to creating your own flats. Off the top of my head, Gap has the City flats that are plain and Lanvin-like, at a reasonable price. I'll let you know more if I come across any.
@Vicky - Haha, yes I change bags depending on my outfit, but mostly based on weather. I refuse to take certain bags out when it's bad out. I think the MAC is a great convertible clutch. I'm a huge RM fan, but the style for some reason doesn't do it for me... until I saw her release ones in an ostrich print leather *drools* Good luck with your MAC hunt!
@Callandra - Space is an issue for me as well. I tend to go for bigger/oversized clutches, so fitting my things in usually isn't a big problem, but sometimes I find myself just needing the extra space. You really do have a lovely bag collection -- perhaps a collection post sometime? :)
@kileen - Your RM MAC is one of my favorite bags of yours right now!
@Kimchi Girl - Haha, trust me, I don't deserve to have my name with sophisticated nor fashionistas in the same sentence :) Maybe your clutch will make an appearance in a future outfit post? :)
@Sarah - Wow! Girl, I'm so jealous of your clutch collection (and I don't even know which colors/styles you have!)
I don't own a clutch, always scared I'm going to forget them somewhere. I need a bag with shoulder straps because holding onto a bag while shopping is very inconvenient for me. So I always saw clutches as more of an evening bag. But, oooo first time I am seeing you wear something from Asos. I'm liking the polka dots! :)
ReplyDeleteI am into clutches as well! Abc you have a very clever mix of layering styles!
ReplyDeleteI only have one clutch that I use when I go to dinner events (when I don't want to carry a big bag). I love your clutch and your skirt is awesome!
ReplyDeleteComplex Cardigans
I wish I was as bag and accessory saavy as you were. I cling on to one yawnful bag and a wristlet for a couple of years now. I'm glad your Jenny Yuen makes another appearance on the blog, it is such a gorgeous clutch!
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt and clutch! I'm impressed that you change bags every day! I hate moving things from bag to bag.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great Easter! (if you don't celebrate it, then have a great weekend!)
Such a pretty skirt!! Polka dots are already super cute but add the gray and pink = perfect! When you switch bags, do you use one of those bag organizers to make the transition easier? I have to admit that I use the same bag every day for work but like to change it for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteOkay...lets start off by saying..thank you for emailing a pic of yourself! Sorry if Aubrey and I caused you any angst via Twitter..LOL :D
ReplyDeleteLove this freaking outfit and the clutch is darling! I don't have any "TRUE" clutch pieces but I have tried using my Chanel summer flap as a clutch and it works really well.
You look amazing Cee!!!
ohhh i LOVE the colors of this skirt and i'm a huge fan of polka dots!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I'm far more apt to carry a small bag in the spring/summer than in the winter. Usually when it's cold you want to keep your hands in your pockets and not around a bag.
ReplyDeleteBut the clutch is darling, and i'm sure it's happy to be out of the closet again!
Chic on the Cheap
Hey love this new location and I LOOOVE the outfit! I'm a purse girl too ;) In the Spring / Summer / Fall I tend to switch bags often but in the Winter or if it's raining I tend to stick with my really durable bags so I don't have to "baby" them :D
ReplyDelete@Jarucha - It feels like I've had this ASOS skirt forever (bought last year during one of their sales) and for some reason haven't gotten around to wearing it... until now :) I'm glad you like it!
ReplyDelete@Myfashiontake - Thank you. I try to step out of my comfort zone every once in awhile. Hopefully I'm not repeating too many outfits :)
@Jenn - I think one clutch is perfect -- it usually covers those special events. I guess I tend to go overboard when I like something ;)
@Banhannas - But Hanna, you are! Your BJ lipstick clutch is slowly converting you to a bags and accessories girl :)
@b_ra - Believe me, I hate moving things around too. I don't carry around too much stuff with me, so usually a handful grab or two is sufficient to transfer all my items.
@SewPetiteGal - Nope, no bag organizers for me. I like to keep my bags in the shape they're meant to be in, ie: Bal has that slouchiness that I don't want to make rigid. When I switch bags, I usually just grab a bunch of items at once and dump it into the other bag. No organizing, so my bags are like a deep, dark black hole, haha.
@Really Petite - Hehehe, no worries and no trouble, Annie! Have you tried using your flaps as a clutch? I find it to be the perfect size to be tucked underneath the arm.
@Sandy a la Mode - I've been admiring polka dots on others for so long, and am now just finally hopping onto the bandwagon :)
@LyddieGal - So true about cold hands. I thought about gloves + cluthes, but I would be afraid of them slipping out of my hands! So better not chance it until the nicer weather's out :)
@Elaine A (TOBeautyReviews) - High five, fellow purse lover! Will we get to see a collection post sometime? :D
Wow! Your skirt is adorable Cee!!!
ReplyDeleteI like clutches but rarely carry them. I am so paranoid about losing stuff. I lost my wallet once at the supermarket. Lesson learned for me to carry a shoulder bag lol.
I am a crazy purse fiend in general, and clutches are so much fun, although I can't bring myself to trade in my extremely large 'mom-purse' for a clutch as an everyday purse. I just carry too much stuff :).
ReplyDeleteLove the polka dots, too!
Wow, I heart this skirt like, a LOT!! I've seen so many sweet, feminine, chic looks today, and this one certainly is one of the greater ones! I love it! This is my first time on your blog, and I will for sure be back!
