Day 3/30: Hot Pink-ity

Tuesday, June 14, 2011

I'm wearing a few new items today. An ASOS top with beautiful draping, which I first saw on Tiffany @ I am Style-ish and fell instantly in love with. The only downside? It came with shoulder pads. When worn, I resembled and felt like a puny quarterback, so they were quickly cut off. No before pictures because I forgot, but the after felt and looked much better.

The pink and gold ring I'm wearing is actually a scarf ring courtesy of Elle (thank you so much for indulging me in my love of scarves!) But... instead of using the scarf ring looped through a scarf, I went and wore it as a ring, lol. I thought the three intertwined pieces looked super cute when worn on the hand a la Cartier Trinity ring, yeah? They're a bit clunky, but stacking a regular ring on the outside prevented any slippage. Or, instead of my brute force method, see Jean's post on other helpful ways of wearing a too-big ring.

scarf ring as ring: Talbots - gift from Elle (similar)

flower pins: LOFT, Old Navy (similar)

  4. Good use of the scarf ring, very creative. How do you use an actual scarf ring anyways? I never even heard of one until now...

  12. Cee, you're doing so well with your challenge. I am still struggling with what to wear every morning :) What a creative way to wear scarf rings. Who said we need "petite-friendly" ring, right?

  13. This top is such a gorgeous color, and I love how you paired it with the white pants.

And what, exactly, is a scarf ring? Will you be wearing it in it's actual capacity at some point, so we can see how it works? I'm intrigued :)

  16. Thank you all for the kind words and support <3

@kimchi girl - Girl, me too. That is, I wasn't a jewelry person until recently and I can't believe how much I've been missing out! D'oh!

@Popcorn, Pugs & Peonies - Hi there! Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up for the next month ;)

@Jarucha, @Tara - Good question. When I figure it out, I'll let you know, hahaha. I think the ring is meant to take the place of hand-knotting... but we'll see.

@gold N turquoise - They were pretty thin shoulder pads, but still shoulder pads nonetheless. Does the color and shape kind of remind you of a 70s/80s look when shoulder pads were in? I think that's what they were going for, but I'm more of a modern girl :)

@PetiteLittleGirl - I plan a few days ahead otherwise I would feel overwhelmed in the mornings :) But, I'm sure once you start a few outfits, it won't seem as daunting... until perhaps maybe the last few days of the month when we feel like we've worn each item to death, lol.

No petite rings for me b/c I have chubby fingers :D

  24. Cee, you look like you've walked off of a cruise ship right onto your own little island! I hope you understood my analogy. I just think you look soo "relaxed chic"! I still love those pants!

  25. @purses and puppies - Yep, I'd say they were pretty thin, but still too thick for my liking, if that makes any sense :)

@simplyvonne - I've been planning ahead for the next month, otherwise I'd be running ragged in the mornings too! I actually have been testing out and playing with the tripod! Hopefully real shots coming soon :)

@Elaine A (TOBeautyReviews) - Hehehe, I will try, but there's not much rhyme or reason :)

@b_ra - I do! And I wish that island I just hopped off of was in the Caribbean!
