Day 7/30: Bright Neons
Sunday, June 19, 2011Thank you to everyone who helped me with my tripod dilemma. I'm happy to say that I went with the Vista Explorer from Amazon. It took about 15 minutes to learn all the ins and outs... but days before I finally took it out for a spin (notice the change of scenery today?) I have a feeling I'll be reverting back to my lazy ways of using ledges to prop up the camera though, especially during work days :D

Smashing! (Heh, I saw that as a comment elsewhere, but found the word to be applicable here. ;D)
ReplyDeleteOooh LOVE this color combo! So bold!

LOVE love this color combo! You look fab Cee.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used my tripod much...before work I don't have enough time and by the time I get home I usually run to bedroom and change before dinner. Therefore all my work-bathroom-mirror pictures... :)
Love pink and red together...this is perfection!
ReplyDeleteGreat color blocking! (I love my tripod...can't do without it for sure ;)
ReplyDeleteNice! I love all these saturated colors together. I still have yet to pair pink and red. Looking good!
ReplyDeleteI love this new scenery in the background and you, Cee. Seeing you (your head specifically) in the picture is such a treat. I have to try pink and red together some day. You look so chic in this color combo!
ReplyDeleteLove this color block!! After a few days of using the tripod I love it, I don't think I'll ever go back to ledges!

Cee! You look AMAZING with your hair down like that! I love the new scenary, it's so picture-perfect with your well-put-together outfit! I'm glad you are doing more headshots since now I'm obsessed with your choices of sunglasses, hehe. You're like my #1 guide to things to buy it seems...Just thought I'd let you know I'm grateful for your blog :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new background, Cee. You look stunning with your "color-blocking" outfit. I "borrowed" my Dad's tripod. I use it every day. It's just so convenient. Although, I still feel super weird to take pictures of me in public :)
ReplyDelete1) I love the use of colour blocking! It makes for such a sophisticated outfit!
ReplyDelete2) The background really accentuates what you're wearing.
3) I really commend you guys for being able to take pictures of yourselves out in public..I'm way to afraid to do that!
4) Have a great week Cee! Can't wait to see your outfits!
Fantastic color blocking! Loves it :)
ReplyDeleteYay for more head shots - I love them!! This outfit is so perfect! The bright colors are gorgeous together and you pull it off fabulously :)
ReplyDeleteFirstly, it is great to finally see the whole you!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, thank you for linking that tripod! I was hoping to move away from my bedroom mirror, and at that price point, I can do so very soon.
Last but not least, wonderful outfit! The colors really pop against the colorful scenery.

Oh those yummy brights..... having a LOVE affair with your combo. Well done on the tri-pod excursion, beautiful. I am still terrible with the whole picture thing, really need to work through it.
ReplyDeleteYay! I have the same tripod too!! I love how easy it is to remove my camera from the tripod!
ReplyDeleteLove how bright this outfit is! Livin' up to your blog name! :D
So bold, so chic, so awesome! Love everything you chose. You have been doing so well in this challenge. You picked nice and versatile pieces too.
ReplyDeletethe color blocking is really nice, I didn't think fushia and red would go well until I saw these pictures. you look fab :D
ReplyDeletehow are you putting together such awesome outfits? im totally struggling with my 30 items, lol. is this the tripod you told me about that i got without really looking at? if it is, it works great for me! love the new scenery to your pics!
ReplyDeletesomeone is getting comfortable showing a bit of face!!! shirt looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteJust stunning Cee, everything you put on looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteomgosh i stand corrected i think this may be my most favorite outfit you've ever worn! i'm loving the head to toe shots these days it's so nice to put a head to your body hahahaha.
ReplyDeletebut seriously these colorblock colors are STUNNING ON YOU! i love the draping on your blouse.
as for dim sum places i won't be much help unfortunately i didn't develop my palette and taste buds until i moved away to hawaii and san francisco :( i'll ask my mom maybe she'll know hehehe.. she knows her chinese food pretty well in the DC area!
As always, thank you all for your kind words <3
ReplyDelete@Lilly's Style - I'm trying to force myself to use mine... I think I'm going to keep them permanently in the trunk of my car, pretty much ready to use without having to set it up. The time saving should make me want to use it more often :)
@Olyvia - I'm so flattered :) And thank you! It's funny you notice my sunglasses because I own 2 pairs, and both have already been featured on this blog, hahaha. My Walmart aviators and these Old Navy oversized ones. I'm a huge fan of buying things online, but I can't for glasses/sunglasses because I have a flat nose. So most don't work out for me since the bottom part touches my cheeks (which I can't stand). Aviators are great because they have those nose pads. The ON ones I found and tried on a whim, but was happy to see they worked out because they also have a plastic part that sort of sticks out, which doubles as a nose pad. Ok, I don't even know if you wanted to hear me ramble about my sunglasses search, but if you did here you go, otherwise, sorry!
@PetiteLittleGirl, @b_ra - A cleaning lady and a construction guy (I assume) kept walking back and forth where I was while I was taking these pics. And they both would keep looking at me too while I was doing my "walking" shots. Ahh... I think it's one of those things we'll get used to after awhile :)
@gold N turquoise - Amazon's prices fluctuates a lot. I bought mine for $20, so if you're willing to wait, it may go back down. Good luck!
@LePetiteLemon - Hi tripod twin! (Though we're triplets with Yvonne @ Simply Yvonne, hehe). Do you find that little nubbin next to the screw for your camera to be inconvenient? I'm always pushing it down before I can rotate my camera on.
@purses and puppies - Yep, the same tripod. Look at me recommending things before I really even play with it :D
@AubreyOhDang! - Probably never going to be comfortable enough to show the entire face, from the front on, hahaha. But this will do :)
great job w/ the new tripod, hehe. this outfit is so something i'd wear on a night out w/ the girls...super sexy and eye catching!
ReplyDeletelove these new "head" shots!
kimchi girl

ReplyDeletewow. i love teh color blocking you've got going on ;)
ReplyDeleteThis color combination is so fantastic, and a little unexpected (unexpected by me, anyway...but that's because I am very, very boring when it comes to color combinations).
ReplyDeleteI love the full shots, and I kind of want to start taking my pictures with sunglasses, which may look a little awkward in my bathroom, but whatever :)
wow, this look is incredible and i'm in love with your color choices!! i haven't gone shopping in over 3 weeks now and you're making me want to buy everything you're wearing! :)
ReplyDeletecute & little

ReplyDeletelove the color blocking! you look so chic!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed that you can pull off the bright color blocking so well. I'd be scared to be wearing such bright colors! but you look amazing. And I'm loving the pictures with your sunglasses!!! :)
