Day 12/30: A Walk on the Pier

Friday, June 24, 2011

Every once in awhile, I'd Google map surrounding areas using the satellite view, just cuz I'm a dork with too much time on my hands. To my surprise, I saw this huge body of water near me, topped with a PIER. How very cool! But why did I not know about it until NOW? I'm stoked because the surrounding areas looked quite secluded, so it should be perfect for picture taking. How do you scout out potential photo spots?

  5. You look so chic Cee! Can I start calling you that? "So Chic Cee"! Everytime I see those white pants I always feel like you should be close to a body of water. Now you are! P.s. can you believe you're almost halfway through your 30 for 30 challenge? Time flies!

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Ha! We actually scouted our vacation on Google Earth. That's hilarious. I haven't ventured outside of the confines of my front or backyard for any photos. Maybe someday...

You look fabulous with your all white outfit and the two colorful belts. Love it!

  10. Actually I do it while I'm driving. If I'm headed to a new venue to meet up with friends I look around as I'm driving, and then I'm like...that's a great place to take pics! I've started keeping my tripod in my trunk

  15. Haha! that's exactly what I do! I look at Google Maps and see what there is around me. I've discovered a bunch of new parks and picture locations that way! I usually just go over my route home on Satellite view and see if there's anything good close by :)

You pull off the white-on-white so well!

  18. Your whites and the waterscape make you look like you're vacationing on the Med!

I'm also interested on how people find their backgrounds. I'm really lazy and just find spots in my immediate vicinity-- or some other places that I know are already nice. Though today, I did find a spot that holds a lot of promise-- the city hall!!! Seriously.

  19. Ok, just occurred to me that you're participating in the 30 for 30, too. Love this all white outfit. So crisp! But especially like how you wore the scarf with the tied part asymmetrical. I'll be keeping up with you on bloglovin'.

  20. Thanks for all the kind comments :)

@KDot - Wow, that sounds amazing. There are times when I drive by what looks to be a nice spot for pictures, but the buildings are actually still in use, so I'd feel really awkward b/c it feels like I'm trespassing.

@b_ra - Hahaha, you can call me whatever you want :) The alliteration is pretty clever!

@Style Journey, @Stylepint, @kimmie - I'm so glad to see so many other using Google Maps for various scouting! Great minds definitely think alike :D

@Shasie - Me too! I think I've started to pay more attention to the nearby surroundings than the actual road. Gotta change that :)

@Lisa - I own too many white clothes, so it's only a matter of time before I walk out the house in head-to-toe white ;)

@hurricanekerrie - Whoa, that does sound super cool. Can't wait to see your future pictures!

@theclotheswewear.com - I didn't intend for the scarf to lay asymmetrical like that... it just sort of ended up that way :D But I confess I like it too!

  22. What a great way to find new places!! I google map for boring things like looking at landmarks around my destination but never for something fun!

Love the accessories - especially the scarf and Disney Couture bracelet!

  23. you must remove the tag from that scarf. hahaha, it's killing me!

I'm intrigued by your double belts.

  24. Well, I think I'm going to start doing it by Google satellite map now, because this location is gorgeous! It's kind of funny that you never even knew it existed before.

I love the all white look, by the way...that takes a kind of courage/confidence that you won't spill anything on yourself that I just don't have :)
