Happy 2011!
Tuesday, January 04, 2011This year I will:
1) Stop buying dresses that I have no occasions to wear to. Must... resist... all the pretty designs and fabrics. (Good thing I've already [hopefully] bought my share of dresses at the end of December).
2) Lose the stomach fat. Most people will scoff if they see my stomach. It's one of those things that I've taken for granted my entire life... and never noticed until I've put on weight. I definitely miss my old stomach! Need to form a workout plan, eat better, and stop being a lazy bum.
3) Go on vacation. Would you believe that it's been years since I've taken time away for myself? I've completely maxed out my company's comprehensive leave many times over. It's a good thing we can cash out extra unused vacation hours, so it's not a total loss.
4) Train my feet to wear high heels. As much as I love flats, I wish I felt the same way about my heels. They're too pretty to be sitting in my closet collecting dust ;)
5) Stop my wandering eye from lusting after new bags. The ones I already have are beginning to feel like unwanted stepchildren.
I'll revisit this next year and see how much self control, or lack thereof, I had :)

I want your boots! LOL I still can't get over that they are from Old Navy!!! You sure have gotten tons of wear out of them!
ReplyDeleteLove your new layout!!! :)
I love the extra color the necklace gives the outfit!
ReplyDeleteA workout tip, coming from a lazy person...I try to do mini workouts during the commericals while I watch tv. I do sit-ups and use five pound weights for my arms. This is sporadic, though...should do it more.
Your #4 resolution should not be too difficult, just stop buying flats! :) Sounds so easy, right? :p It actually worked for me...two years ago I just stopped buying work shoes that were flats. Now, if I do happen to wear flats, my students flip out.
omg, i hear you on the belly. that's on my list too. ugh.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to #1, esp if it fits; no alterations!
ReplyDeletelove your j. crew shirt the more I see it. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd great resolutions (happy new year, again!) You know I am probably more guilty of #1 than you are so maybe wee can keep each other in line (but you do look freaking gorgeous in dresses).
And I know you probably want to vacation somewhere warmer and more tropical but if you decide to take a vacation further north you have a free lunch waiting for you here.
So with you on #2. I've totally taken for granted my flat belly before I got married...15 months into the marriage and my flat belly is gone. I blame my husband, it's all because of his delicious cooking.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm loving your outfit, everything about it, really! :)
Oh the dreaded belly fat! I started getting it a year after marriage and now that I'm post-baby, I'm pretty sure it's here to stay. Although I see petite mamas like Sydney and Vicky and get hopeful :) Good luck with your resolutions!
ReplyDeleteLove the look especially with the belt over the cardigan!
I can relate to most of your resolutions. Love your comfy outfit. I am waiting for my Amrita Singh earrings and bracelet to arrive. I love it after reading your post. I hope the bracelet will fit. I am developing an exercising routine for myself. Hopefully I can share with you soon
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit, I love it with the belt reining in the sweater. As for your resolutions, I wish you luck. I have very similar ones too especially to shop less and exercise more. =)
ReplyDeleteah, i still so in love the plaid shirt!! and the coral Amrita Singh necklace is perfect with this outfit.

ReplyDeleteCan't get enough of that checked shirt, so cute and I love the red necklace, perfect color combo.
ReplyDeleteah, another way to wear that purple crewcuts shirt! I quite like this version :) I'm with you on #1, I can't stop buying pretty party dresses, when I barely go to parties lately. I think i have a post coming up about a party dress too, and wondering if i should keep it or not. haha
ReplyDeleteHi Cee, I am digging your new blog layout! And there's that Forever 21 cardi again! I love how you mix and match and 'make do' with what you already have in your closet. And I have that same problem with dresses that are just sitting in my closet. I'd love to see you 'dress down' some dresses and make it work for the office. I think that would be a fun challenge :)
ReplyDeleteAnd belly?!? Psssh! Girl, what are you talking about? You look like you've got washboard abs.
I think this is one of my fave outfits on you so far! Love it all! BTW...I bought those Old Navy boots too but ended up returning them. They're super cute!

Grr, my bleeping keyboard was messed up and it kept making typos. Ok, it is fixed now. So let's try this again. Just wanted to say that I've just discovered your blog and I like your style.
ReplyDelete@Really Petite - I know, right? I've definitely gotten my money's worth :)
ReplyDelete@Michelle - Easier said than done! Flats are like the useless dresses I mentioned in #1. I can't stop buying them! I'll keep the TV workout tips in mind. It's such a great idea because I'm practically always in front of the TV :)
@makeupandpearls, @Lilly, @SewPetiteGal - Ahh, no worries. We'll be here to support one another in losing that dreaded tummy fat! Although from the sound of it, I should keep putting off getting married to stay skinny, right? ;)
@AubreyOhDang! - Oh that's the worst. If it fits + great deal = why would I ever pass it up?! :P
@Elle - Haha, every time you post a new dress, I can't stop admiring how pretty it is, and so the cycle of wanting/buying starts again :) I'll take you up on your offer one of these days!
@PetiteLittleGirl - Can not wait to see your AS set!
@Stylepint - Good luck with yours too! Do share exercise tips if you have any :)
@kileen, @Mama Marshmallow - Thank you, ladies!
@olyvia - Haha, can you tell I wear my new items to death until I run out of things to pair them with? ;)
@Lisa - Thanks for putting up with my self pity :D Definitely got washboard abs... from a mile away. Good suggestion with the dressing down dresses. I'll have to see what I can do about that!
@PearlsAndGreenTea - Oh I'm sorry the ON boots didn't work out for you! There are a lot of similar ones out there that you could possibly try. Steve Madden Intyce and Target Kady come to mind.
@libby - Hehe, it's ok! Thanks for the compliments :)
You look awesome!! Love how casual chic it is and how you belted it over the cardigan..sooo cool! Wicked hott boots!

ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you about #1, #2 and #4!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple of your gingham shirt! so cute :)
I'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
