Floral/Stripes
Wednesday, August 28, 2013I figured the navy stripes on my top would be dark enough that I can get away with wearing black pumps. But whether due to the lighting or the blue bag (or a combination of both), the black pumps turned out to be such a glaring contrast in photos. Perhaps I should've worn another neutral color instead? Nude pumps? Snakeskin pumps?

Yeah, I see your point with the dark heels. The outfit itself is such a lovely combination though that I don't think it's too big a deal! I might have worn nude heels, but then again I always seem to prefer nude heels. Just yesterday I wore bright pink pants with a black and white polka dot blouse. Black heels ended up looking better with the outfit, but my initial instinct was to go for the nude, haha.

There's nothing wrong with nude shoes being our brain's default! It's universally flattering for a reason ;)
DeleteLove the floral and stripe combination! I think I would have gone with nude heels too.
ReplyDeleteThat's two votes for nude... I really should listen to my gut next time :)
DeleteA snakeskin pump would have been a nice accent. Those black pumps are really nice, but I agree, probably too much contrast with your outfit.
ReplyDeleteWill definitely be wearing this outfit again with snakeskin pumps in the future!
DeleteHow about navy blue pumps? :)
ReplyDeleteAhh, navy pumps. They definitely would've been in the running if I owned a pair! It's funny how I love (and own) many navy colored pieces of clothing, but none in shoes. Time to add yet another item to my wishlist? :)
Deleteyour nude valentinos!
ReplyDelete:) :) I wore the Rockstuds with the same skirt recently for a dressier outfit, so I wanted to change it up this time. But as they say... if it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Not sure why I keep trying to be different. Sigh.
DeleteI think the black pumps look classy with the outfit.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! I think black looked much more flattering in real life. I didn't start to second guess myself until I saw these photos.
DeleteHi Cee, if i may ask, what size did you end up getting in those YSL pumps?
ReplyDeleteOf course! I usually wear 36-36.5 and bought these pumps in a 36.5. The toebox is narrow and I have normal-to-wide feet. I'm still breaking them in and think I could've sized up to a 37 and been ok. Jean @ Extra Petite bought hers in her usual size of 35 and said the shoes were tight but after a few wears, they're more comfortable. She has narrower feet than I do though. Hope that helps!
DeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
