Tuesday, August 20, 2013The dress code at my workplace is fairly lax, though the casual environment is nowhere near the heydays of the dot-com bubble. As I geek out at home in front of the computer in casual clothes, sometimes I just need to put on a pair of shoes before walking into work to do the same thing. It is nice to be able to wear weekend attire to the office, but sometimes the lines between work and home do start to blur. I'll then turn to slacks or pencil skirts for the daytime, items that have a decidedly professional vibe, but worn in a business casual way so I don't stand out like a sore thumb.

The office where I did my internship also didn't have a written dress code. I always was confused as to what would be appropriate and what not! I just copied the looks of my colleagues for a while, haha. Love this colorful skirt by the way :) xo
ReplyDeleteHey, nothing wrong with that! Copying others is the way to go :) I did that at the start of every new job I've had. At my current job, I've now moved up in seniority in terms of people who have been at the company the longest, so hopefully newcomers will see the casual environments as a good thing.
Deletelove this look for the office! The burgundy top and floral skirt at the perfect mesh of summer and fall
ReplyDeletei love the ways that you've remixed this floral skirt! and the pearls are a nice balance to the studded pumps.

Such a great look. The pearl and shoes really help to dress the outfit up for work.
