Leather & Lace

Today's outfit features a few oldies, some of which have been getting a lot of wears, others not so much. I feel like I haven't shopped in ages (equivalent to only a couple weeks in real time, lol). Instead, I've been rediscovering and restyling items from my closet in different ways. In some cases, it was discovering items with tags still on. Sigh.

I'd attribute my lack of shopping to a combination of factors: 1) No spring trends have caught my eye, 2) recent warm weather makes wearing old items feel like new again, 3) not able to justify paying retail for new items only to see it sold out in a few days (hindsight is always 20/20).

Just wait and watch. Knowing me I'll be singing a different tune next week today. I went and ordered boat shoes this morning -_-

Are there any spring trends you've been jumping aboard on?

  3. You look so great Cee, love this look!
I need to start mixing more some of my older pieces. Some that are hidden in the back of the closet don't get a fair chance.

    1. Hey Hayley - Have you tried browsing shopstyle with keywords like "mary jane bow"? I've had some luck in the past with the "Can You ID?" forum on tPF. Good luck!

    2. Hi! I tried but I didn't find what I'm looking for. I'm sure there will be an option at every major retailer by the summer though. Thanks for the suggestion!
      Love your site!

    1. In a way that's not a bad mindset to have (searching for items)... because your wallet's happy ;) But I do know how frustrating it is to be looking for things and not being able to find them. Stay patient!

  8. What a glamerous look Cee! I'll have to try it out ;) I've been buying quite a bit actually but most of it has gone back just because it wasn't perfect :( Still.....saves me money I guess! Lol

    1. Oops, do returns count? In that case, I've returned a few things during my so-called "haven't shopped" period, hahaha.

  9. I'm glad you brought the leatherette skirt out again - so fun and flirty! I too got a pair of boat shoes (for free using my DSW rewards). They are VERY comfy and go so nicely with my red pants or really any cuffed pants. Looking forward to seeing yours!

    1. YEAH?! I actually went to DSW to try out Sperry's but they didn't have the style I was looking for, so I ordered online (should be here soon though). Will you be doing a post on your pair? :)

  10. I love this! Leather and lace has been done before but I particularly love your take on it! :) The shape of the leather skirt makes this "sweeter." :)

And I am in love with Spring...pastels are my weakness!

    1. Hehe, I love the mint craze that's been going around... but I don't think that color is for me and my skin tone. I think bright, bold colors suit me better... but those can hardly be found in my closet, so I don't know anymore lol. I need to stop playing it safe with all the blacks, whites, and grays!

  11. Oh wow Cee this outfit is amazing!

Haha I'm doing pretty good with the non-shopping. So far for this YEAR I've only purchased a pair of pumps, rain boots and a hoody for which I used a gift card so that technically shouldn't count ;) But....the draw back on that one is my lack of inspiration to post outfit posts LOL! Also a lot of my clothes are currently packed away waiting to be moved into the new house.

I am REALLY loving all the colours I'm seeing for Spring though...luckily nothing that has caught my eye has been on super sale or anything so I haven't wanted to pull the trigger ;)
