Double Knotted
Friday, February 10, 2012I've been taking self photos with a tripod for awhile now and I still get somewhat embarrassed. I usually try to pick secluded areas because the occasional passerby do not bother me. My eyes give me away, but no one would be able to see them behind my sunglasses. In an open environment like today's is a different story. There's just that feeling of being watched, which leads to a brain freeze, then of course the camera capturing the awkwardness at that mid-pose, hahaha. I have a feeling this is like public speaking, where the nervousness will never go away. Only time will tell I suppose.
Have a great weekend!

I love how you tied the scarf into double knots. My husband takes my photos and I'm still feel embarrassed posing for the camera. The other day a lady saw us taking photos and decided to stop by and stand behind my husband while he was taking pictures. She just stood there smiling at us. It was awkward. I wanted to run and hide.
ReplyDeleteHahaha how did your husband feel?! I made bf pose for me one time and I felt embarrassed when there were others milling around. And this was when I was behind the camera! He said he made eye contact with some of them and they were all wearing goofy grins, lol.
DeleteLOVE that scarf!

very clean and sleek outfit. it's super embarrassign taking fashion blogs' photos. i do it on our balcony but we live on a pedestrian-heavy street - very uncomfortable.

Ahh... the backdrop sounds gorgeous though! Please do share sometime when you're feeling brave :)
DeleteUniqlo heatech is thick or warm enough to wear it just only under jacket?? I know heatech has improved every year, but I didn't know they are so evolved. I must try!
ReplyDeleteHaha, temps were in the mid 50s when I wore it earlier last week ;) I also had a thin tank underneath, but I dunno how much the heattech helped. I just wanted a long-sleeve white tee and this fit the bill.
DeleteYou're very brave to take pictures on your own outside Cee!....just so you know though, you don't look awkward here at all. You really do a great job.....and totally love the outfit ;)
ReplyDeletelove your look
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being spotted :) That's why 90% of the time I take photos on my private balcony. Doesn't make for an interesting backdrop like yours, but it keeps my nerves in check.
ReplyDeleteHehe...I never got used to it. I still run and hide if I spot someone within eyesight of my photo taking. Or pretend to be taking tripod shots of really, really interesting tree. =P
ReplyDeleteYou, however, look great! Simple, but pulled together.
Alright, I gotta remember to steal the "taking pics of a tree" idea lol. Usually I try to "stand over" my tripod so people can't really tell what I'm doing.
DeleteI wish I was a little more brave to take pictures in public. I just need to tell myself "who cares" lol
ReplyDeleteGreat look, love the scarf.
You look so put together! Love the scarves and shoes! I am shy when taking pics in public too...
ReplyDeleteI feel awkward just taking photos on my deck where my neighbors can *possibly* see so kudos to you and other bloggers out there who brave it in public. Maybe that is the innate difference between style bloggers and craft bloggers LOL :D
ReplyDeleteLove the simple elegance of today's outfit - you really know how to rock a scarf like no other!
Pshhh you are every bit a style blogger! I do miss your backyard pics, but understand it's hard given the weather. I think my backgrounds are going to be bathroom pics for awhile.
Deletecute scarf! the pink in it brightens up the outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI have not use my tripod for sooo long!!! haha I still feel embarrassed so I always have someone else take it for me :D
ReplyDeleteYou are a brave, brave girl to take your own pictures in public! I don't think I'll ever be able to do that! You always look fantastic though and your poses seem natural but thought out! (if that makes sense :P)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
