In With the Old
Thursday, September 27, 2012I was watching an old rerun of What I Like About You a few months back. Typically what stands out with these type of shows is the fashion at the time. Or gigantic cell phones. During this one particular episode, I kept noticing Amanda Bynes wearing a ballet wrapped-style sweater with a cute skirt. And so that's where I drew inspiration from for today's outfit. Whoever said fashion is cyclical is so right.

You're so right about fashion being cyclical. I just saw a similar look (wrap sweater, skirt) in beautiful fall colours from the Ann Taylor site: http://www.anntaylor.com/ann/catalog/outfit.jsp?outfitId=cat110080&loc=MHL_OCT_1012_WrapSweater&ICID=MHL_OCT_1012_WrapSweater
ReplyDeleteThe jewel-toned colors are indeed gorgeous. I really like how the model wore the wrap sweater over a cowl-neck top, too. Thanks for the link and inspiration!
DeleteCute wrapped look! Love the plants in the background.
ReplyDeletei love watching our "teen" movies we had and seeing what they wore/ what the hair looked like, etc. so funny!
ReplyDeleteOther favorites of mine are "Saved by the Bell" and "90210." I may be dating myself by naming those, but oh, are they entertaining, especially watching nowadays :)
DeleteLove the clean color of blue and white.
ReplyDeleteI used to love "What I Like About You!" I miss Amanda Bynes shows/movies
ReplyDeleteI actually wasn't into WILAY when it was on TV many years ago. I only recently got into it now because it's a favorite of my SIL's. Count me as another Amanda Bynes fan -- absolutely loved her in She's the Man (one of my favs), and of course, Channing Tatum at his prime, as I'd like to say ;)
DeleteHaha, I was just watching "Clueless" the other day and was thinking, "Who dresses like that!?" You did a lovely job of recreating an "old" outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI remember thinking to myself back then, "If only I could dress like that!" My, how the tune has changed, haha.
DeleteWhat is Amanda Bynes doing now I wonder...?
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and necklace! One seriously can't go wrong with red, white and blue color pairing. Love it!
Last I heard, or should I say, saw, a mugshot from... speeding I think? =/ Wish she would go back to acting again!
DeleteLove this chic outfit, looks very patriotic too =) I want to steal that bag!!!
