[photo above and below]: Taken the morning after the polar vortex of a bay that feeds into the Potomac River. At first glance it just looks like foamy waves, right? The entire bay (as far as I could see) was actually frozen over with waves in mid-ripple. Sorry for the low quality photos (wasn't expecting to see this, so only had a prime lens on me), but I swear it was so cool to see in person. Though not as impressive as the frozen pier up in Lake Michigan.

I love that coat Cee! It looks wonderful on you.
ReplyDeleteI work by the Potomac and the past few days it was really surreal how the river itself was frozen. I love the photos you took, I feel like it captures this winter perfectly.
Did you get a chance to take photos?! I can only imagine how the Potomac looked. As cool as this polar vortex turned out, I wouldn't mind not experiencing it for another few years, haha. It was just so darn cold!
Deletethat looks cold, but very neat to see. and you look warm and lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I've never seen snow before so I can only imagine how cool that must've been to see in person. You look so cozy in that beautiful coat!

Whoa! Is that by choice? Or is it something that you hope to experience one day? Forgive my reaction, but I just take the four seasons for granted and forget that not everyone lives in the same type of region I do.
DeleteOoh, I feel cold just looking at your pics, girl! Nice way to stay warm with your outfit!
ReplyDeleteIt's so strange to see frozen waves
