Tweed / Lace
Monday, August 04, 2014Last summer, I wore my striped maxi dress practically once a week (sorry for mentioning this for the nth time yet again.) This summer's equivalent is the tweed dress... except I'm already running out of styling bag-and-shoe pairing ideas, so the most versatile clothing piece award will safely remain with the maxi dress.

Lovely outfit! This dress seems like it's quite versatile as well. I can't wait to see your future pairings!

The dress looks really cute on you! I just got my first maxi dress (also striped) from JCrew a week ago. Hope to get as much wear out of it! :)
ReplyDeleteCan't ever go wrong with stripes! I'm going to predict that you're gonna love your new maxi :)
DeleteI love your dress! The fabric looks amazing.

I still love your dress and want to see it more! Do you find it okay to wear the tweed material in the hot summer months? As I have always associated wearing tweed more so in the fall/winter seasons. I so want to wear my tweed dress but am worried that it will be too hot.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of trying this dress with blue suede pumps next... but am kinda stuck on what purse to carry with. Blue purse would be too matchy-matchy. Perhaps the orange clutch? The way I'm picturing it seems like a little kid playing dress up with all the bright colors, haha. I'll have to lay out all the items and see what will work.
DeleteI suppose it all comes down to personal tolerance. I feel this tweed dress is lightweight enough for summertime -- the short sleeves help and so does the back slit, lol. On super humid days, I just deal with it whenever I'm outside (thankfully not for long periods of time). Then when I'm indoors with the AC blasting, the fabric keeps me warm enough.
Blue and orange will work or you may consider blue and mint if you have anything mint. I think that might be a good combo with the dress too.
DeleteMy closet doesn't contain mint-colored items, unfortunately :( I do love and agree with your suggestion though!
DeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
