Stripe It Twice
Sunday, October 28, 2012Today's post features the last warm weather outfit from the past few days. Shift dresses and I have a love/hate relationship. They're either figure skimming (but somehow accentuates the tummy area) or too loose, therefore resembling a potato sack. I took a chance on this dress (a size up from what I normally wear) because I loved the colors and stripes. I like the current length on me, so if I had went with my normal size, it probably would've been too short. The fit is looser on me than on the model, so for now I'll be cheating with a belt.

I'm not even a new mom... lol. Feel free to offer me some cheese with my whine.
DeleteLove the striped shoes with the striped dress! ;) I don't think I could pull that off!!
ReplyDeletethat dress is absolutely beautiful, cee!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the sizing of the shift dresses. I recently bought their snowcat shift dress with one size up and wore it with a belt too! Is your dress the one with a hint of orange stripes? It's hard to see from the pictures here haha, but you look beautiful with the dress!
ReplyDeleteLet me guess... so you're working from home tomorrow too? Stay safe!
I think the color is reddish-orange, so imo perfect with navy and white stripes :)
DeleteNo telework option for me, so just chilling at home instead. Hope all is well where you are, Julia. Stay safe.
i have the same problem with shift dresses! but this one looks lovely on you with the belt. :]
ReplyDeleteI tried on the same dress a few weeks ago but it looked off on me...it looks lovely on you though!
ReplyDeleteAnd stay safe this week. :)
The dress is cute on you! Love the idea of adding the belt.
ReplyDeleteStay Safe! Seems actually bad.
Lovely stripe dress and shoes Cee. I have been into stripe pattern lately. I cant wear a dress like this without a belt because it ends up looking like i am wearing a maternity cloth.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words, will keep you posted as when/where my new blog is.
I've been looking in to adding a shift dress to my wardrobe as well! I suffer the same problems, so I'm still on the lookout. The thin red stripe really makes the pattern pop!

Very beautiful, I love the pearls. Which size did you pick? I'm trying to purchase one, but I'm sure which size to get.
ReplyDeleteI bought the dress in a size 0 (I typically wear 00 in J.Crew). I've heard the dress runs short, so sizing up is a good idea if you think you need the extra length. Hope that helps!
DeleteI'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
