Nautical with a Twist
Thursday, May 14, 2015A reader recently asked for styling ideas regarding this gray crop top. Being the go with the flow type of person that I am, I had plans to go through every dress shirt in my possession before thinking about what else I could wear the crop top with. She expected more from me, so... challenge accepted!
For today's look, I layered the gray crop top over a flowy cami. I experimented with the cami tucked into the waistband of my pants, but that just made me look like I had a black patch over my stomach (note to self: wear the crop top by itself next time). Therefore, I just left the cami untucked for that relaxed look, which worked well with the drapey trousers.

I really love this outfit, and that shade of red on the bag! Pls wear this more often!
ReplyDeleteHaha, the red is more on the purple side, so isn't quite as red as the Prada red ;) I'll show it to you soon!
DeleteThe nautical trend is perfect for spring and summer. Love it.

DeleteBeautiful crop top. What size are you wearing? Will help me pick out the right size.
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm wearing sz XS in the crop top.
DeleteHey there, that was me who left the previous comments. Thanks so much for getting right on to my request. See! you are creative. I never would've thought to pair the top with a cami. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the post you made this Tuesday, I had actually wondered how the top would look over the dress you were wearing, or perhaps another dress, so that it could turn the dress into a skirt. Not sure if it would work or not but perhaps worth a try?
Thank you again for the post. I'm glad you were up for the challenge. ;-)
Hey! Thank YOU for giving me the push :)
DeleteI love the crop top over dress idea -- actually have been pining over this dress for awhile. I really think it's easy to duplicate if I owned a trapeze-style dress. My white ON dress is more fitted up top, but that might just work. Thanks, will def give that a try at home.
I'd love to hear from you. Constructive criticisms welcome!
