Monday, July 14, 2014My trick to wearing too-short tops is to layer a tank underneath, preferably one in a similar color to blend in with the rest of the outfit.

ReplyDeleteI'm struggling with the too short top thing right now!
I'm about 5'3" and misses sized tops are too long and wide, and petite tops can often be too short, although they often fit better everywhere else.
To avoid this in the future, I came across this tip: lift your arms up when you try on a top/blouse & if your lower belly shows, it is too short.
In the future, I'll be more conscious of length of top in the petite department & perhaps spend more time finding things that fit in the non petite area that offer a bit more length.
Great tip! It's one that I've heard of and should know, but often times forget when I'm trying things on. Sigh. But you know there is a small advantage in too-short tops... they're great to wear with high-waisted pants or skirts! They don't bulge out when tucked or can be worn untucked and not look proportional. The only downside is that I don't own enough high-waisted bottoms.
