Colorblock Peplum
Friday, May 09, 2014Peplum is a trend I've stayed away from until recently. While everyone else raved about its figure-flattering-ness (a word I just made up), I didn't think my hips need the extra attention peplum brings. Well, all it takes is the perfect top for me to do a complete 180. I love, love the soft colors and drapey-ness of this tee.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

My issue with peplum (at least in tops) is where the seam (where the peplum is attached) hits me. I know they're supposed to hit at your natural waist-ish, but I can't stand having the seam there. I always feel like it needs to be lower, closer to my hips. I love peplum on skirts and dresses though because the seam is lower.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I can't say I've noticed that peplum on skirts and dresses hit lower on me (haven't tried on many), but now I'll be on the lookout for that in the future.
DeleteI was so against it until I tried one a well fitted one and love it! The colors on this are perfect for spring. :)
ReplyDeleteYour clutch is gorgeous!

Hey, I love this blouse as well since I have it too. It was a surprise purchase for me as well as I wasn't a peplum-convert until now (or maybe this blouse only). Maybe you can do another feature showcasing the back of the blouse. The colorblock detail on the back is another reason why I love this blouse so much.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! The purple button-up back is super cute. *Makes mental note to take a back photo in the future*
DeleteThat clutch is clutch!
