Wearing a head-to-toe new outfit is exciting, but I get even more of a kick out of mixing new items with old gems. Today's look is such an example. I had to stare at myself for a good few minutes in the mirror before realizing how well each item complemented the others. I may or may not have had an extra skip to my step throughout the rest of the day.

Stripes, oh how I love thee. It's a pattern that suits any occasion -- work, dressy, weekends, just to name a few, and one that I can't get enough of. Oh, periwinkle blue? Don't mind if I add that to my growing collection.

Today's outfit felt familiar to me. After digging through archived posts, not only do I wear the pink + blue combination often, there were two prior outfits (here, here) that involved this exact striped skirt. I guess I like to stick to the tried-and-true even with newer items in my closet.

This skirt is one of those items that you just don't want to take off. I wore it on back-to-back days last week! That phrase "so comfortable you can sleep in it" is quite fitting... and I would have if not for my aversion of combining my "outside clothes" with my "home clothes".

Between work and the Olympics, I've been pretty much MIA the last 2 weeks -- both in posting and taking photos for the blog. Good thing I still have a few outfit snaps from before... such as today's much belated Valentine's Day outfit. Hope y'all have a good start to the week!

The title says it all -- keeping it simple and classic in black, camel, and gold tones for an outfit to run errands in recently. Along with all the other "fall" favorites (colorful leaves, pumpkin flavors -- only in donuts, football season, wearing layers), I'm so happy to also add (faux) leather pants to the list!

There is a silver lining to this frigid winter that we've been experiencing. All it took was a few days of "bone chilling cold" for me to acclimate to "normal" winter temperatures. Not that I wish for this weather pattern every year, but just trying to stay positive and look forward to spring.
